Super Bowl LVI - The intricate incline to Inglewood (Part 1)

Anybody listening?

Less than a week to go to the draft.

This is my take on the top 15 as it stands

  1. Jaguars - Lawrence :lock:

  2. Jets - Wilson :lock:

  3. 49ers - Itā€™s a QB but which QB, is the Mac Jones talk just a smokescreen? The draft starts here and if the choice is Jones then it blows everything open as teams will be far more willing to move up to get Fields or Lance rather than Jones. Iā€™m going to change my mind here and say that they wonā€™t take fields as they will feel he isnā€™t a quick enough decision maker. Trey Lance is the pick.

  4. Had WFT trading up here but I think the Falcons will hold if Fields is still in the board and take the Georgia kid.

  5. Bengals - They have needs everywhere - do they take an elite Oline prospect in Sewell or Slater or wide receiver - Iā€™m going for Jamarr Chase to be reunited with his college QB

  6. Dolphins - WR, OLine or best player available like Pitts or Parsons are the options here. I think given that they have 4 picks in the top 50 and this draft is deep at Oline and WR I think they may go for one of Pitts or Parsons. Iā€™m going to plum for Parsons here as he is the best defensive player in the draft and the Dolphins traded back up to get ahead of Detroit to get him.

  7. Broncos - they give up a third and fourth rounder to move up two spots and take Mac Jones

  8. Panthers - A roster missing high end talent aside from CMac but has a very innovative offensive coordinator. Kyle Pitts is the pick.

  9. Lions - Sewell remains the pick while they get some additional pick

  10. Cowboys - Patrick Surtain as the Cowboys need as much defensive help as they can get. It will definitely be corner back.

  11. Giants - Rashawn Slater but wouldnā€™t be surprised if he goes earlier.

  12. Eagles - One of the 'Bama receivers - Iā€™m going to go with Waddle and his speed

  13. Chargers - Has to be offensive line - Christian Darrisaw seems to be a very obvious pick going off all the mock drafts out there. Also wouldnā€™t be surprised if they made a play to move up to 6 or 7 and try and get Sewell.

  14. Vikings - Defensive line so either Christian Barnmore or Kwithy Paye who looks a complete athletic freak

  15. Patriots - Heisman winner Devonta Smith falls to the Patriots.

I watched them on YouTube a few times, shop local and all that. Theyā€™ve had some good guests over past 12 months

Ian Rappaport had tweeted something similar. I hear the argument for them not to select Fields on the Robert Mays podcast and it makes a lot of sense

Iā€™m not hyped for a Mac Jones, Nate Sudfield, Josh Rosen QB room.

Teddy B traded to the Broncos.

Perfect fit for him, heā€™s better than Lock

If so, itā€™s not by much. Not exactly a swashbuckling upgrade.

He still isnā€™t great though. High character guy but a game manager at best. I saw something last week about him only throwing something like 2 touchdown passes in the second half of games last season.

Maybe not great but still a serious upgrade on Lock. He wonā€™t cost you games

That trade kind of fucks the Falcons a bit. Doubt anyone from outside the top 10 is going to pay the price to move up to 4 after the 49ers set the market and the Broncos who might have been a trade partner now have more leverage.

They will nearly have to take Pitts at 4 or Fields if he drops

He wonā€™t but look at the Panthers last year. They played a lot of tight games but ended up losing most of them due to Teddy not being able to get it done. Broncos defence isnā€™t the same as it was a few years back. Nothing more than a stop gap and in fairness for a 6th round pick you couldnā€™t expect much more

Itā€™s falling to Belichickā€¦ heā€™ll never get a better opportunity to go for a highly rated prospect.

I think that the Bill, Washington and the bears may all make a play to get up into the back half of the top 10 especially if the Falcons donā€™t take a QB. Would cost them this yearā€™s and next yearā€™s first and maybe a couple of other picks to get to 7/8/9 range but the cost to move up to 4 would be a little too rich.

Julio to the Pats, per source

Falcons have Jake Matthews at LT and the two lads on the right Lindstrom and Mcgary are both first rounder picks in 2019 so hard to see them taking Sewell. Talks that they might trade Julio but it doesnā€™t make much sense with his contract and Ridley is a WR1 in waiting so doubt they go for Chase either.

That leaves Pitts who may suit what Arthur Smith or they get a QB. They could go defense like Parsons or Surtain but that would be a huge reach.

It is looking like a tough spot for them as what is likely available doesnā€™t suit their needs

No.

6th round pick and only costing $3m against the 2021 cap.

Great move and leaves the option of taking a QB at 9th pick in the draft as well.

Paton has done a great job so far, shoring up the secondary as well. Iā€™d be over the moon if they get Micah Parsons but I donā€™t see him falling that far.

What are the chances of the Broncoā€™s still taking a QB in the first round? Teddy Bridgewater isnā€™t going to butter many parsnips

Still a good chance if there is one still there at 9. Doubt they will look to trade up for one now though. Bridgewater is pretty much a one year rental if he doesnā€™t work out.

The dust will have settled on DeShaun by then.
Speaking of trading up I hear the Saints are up to all sorts
