Super Bowl LVI - The intricate incline to Inglewood (Part 1)

Rodgers to Adams, poetry in motion.

He’s been good but Packers D putting no pressure on him.

Goff channeling his inner Lamar there.

Goff strolling for a first down and lads wondering why Rodgers doesn’t win more games.

Lynn is doing a great job as OC for the lions so far. He will be a head coach again sooner rather than later

Clear hold there on Cephus

That’s the game. Rodgers picking on the lions LBs here.

The Lions are a good bad team as Geoff Schwartz put it on twitter last night. They will play every team hard but eventually an unforced error on offence or the better sides will just figure out the mismatches against the defence and punish them.

Offence looked really good in the first half but that inability to convert on 4th down just outside the redzone and then a fumble on the very next offensive play turned a 4 points deficit into 18 points and the game was as good as over.

Sewell looks as advertised at left tackle, he is going to be a monster and the offensive line looks good while TJ Hockenson will go close to catching 100 balls this year. Defence is still a mess, very young and inexperienced secondary while the linebackers couldn’t cover Tonyan or Jones coming out of the backfield.

I think they will get some wins against the likes of the Bears, Vikings, Bengals and Falcons but hard to see them getting a W against any play off calibre team, just too any gaps to plug.

Will be interesting to see what happens when Taylor Decker returns at left tackle, he has a long term deal and is a very good player. Do they switch him or Sewell to RT. Goff is also under contract under 2024 but the dead money disappears at the end of next season so you would think that the Lions will look to spend next years first rounders on a play maker on offence and defensive reinforcements before going for a QB in 2023

The Pack are back!

Goff was playing really well until it started pissing rain

You can’t expect a man to do his best work in those conditions

Yeah, the first fumble was under no real pressure and all but ended the game.

His hands are too small!!!

Serious sports stop playing when its raining

Peyton and Eli called Goff a championship quality QB last night. They’ve both obviously had too many bangs to the head

He did lead a team to a super bowl appearance. It isn’t a huge stretch. He is a plus game manager who can do it if he has the supporting cast around him not too unlike Jimmy G.

Hard to see Detroit putting a championship level roster around him or him being there long enough for it to happen but the guy is only 26

Agree. In his SB appearance season he was very good tbf.

He does need a dominant RB though with decent pass protection. That SB flew over his head and the team to be fair, was a very disappointing spectacle.

I think he’ll do well at Detroit all in all. He hasn’t started too bad either for a so called useless cunt.

He had McVeigh in his ear at the scrimmage line telling him everything to do. Without a good O Line he’s in trouble as his decision making under pressure is awful.

Mayfield was similar but has come on hugely in this space

The lions have a good o line and he looked pretty good first half last night, fumbles and the defence meant the game got away from him. I don’t think he is a top 10 QB but in the right scenario he is a good player who will you more games than he will lose you. But he isn’t a guy who will dig you out of a 14 point hole, up until recently he wasn’t a guy who would put you in that position in the first place.

Belichick exposed Goff with the defensive shifts after the radio communications stop and McVay couldn’t call out the protections and formations to him.
He has the physical talent no doubt (bar the lady hands), he is the ideal hold over type QB.

Also has the best looking significant other in the league so fair play to him

He hasn’t been out in a position to succeed there in Detroit, though they did draft the highest rated O-line guy right? Sewell.
There isn’t a decent (proven) route runner in that receiving corp, Swift is electric obviously and Hockenson is a safe pair of hands but Rodgers or Wilson wouldn’t set the world alight there at the moment,
I’d like Goff to do well, always a target for the know nothings
