Taking a shot on the Jets tonight at 9/2. Morale looks to be fairly low in New England and with no one to throw the ball to bar Edelman, who’ll be double teamed all night, Brady will struggle to put up a winning score against this Jets D. Geno Smith will be full of confidence after hitting the ground running last week and with no Mark Sanchez to make a dogs bollocks of it an upset could be on the cards here.

Geno needs a bit more urgency, he’s too composed for his own good and he often drops too far back. Don’t think I’ve ever seen Brady so angry, he’s only himself to blame for a couple of the Pats fuck-ups. Big swing at the death there with the officials feeling guilty about their earlier hometown calls cancelling out New Englands TD and Gronkowski missing the FG. 13-3 at the half, it’s still there for Jets if they can get something going offensively.

Bit more detail on the ending please Laz. Saw bits and pieces of the first half, most of the third quarter and up to Geno’s second pick near the end but missed the last 4 minutes or so.

Certainly don’t think Geno is the messiah but I think for the Jets it’s a question of wanting to know where he is around November/December. It doesn’t help Rex much (though I’d keep him regardless) but they’re better off exposing him to as many games as possible so they can make a decision for next year’s draft. He wasn’t a first rounder so no shame in going again if he’s no better than he was tonight after 8 or 10 games.

Edelman was really reliable for Brady in that game - the only guy he could place any reliance. Geno wasn’t exactly helped by his receivers either, though that was a horrible throw for his second INT.
