What the fuck are the Packers wearing? The state of it. The Browns equally hideous. Hard on the eyes this one.
Rex Ryan is a brilliant football coach from a great football family and his Jets are playing their tails off for him. I think I’ll regard Rex in the same revered terms as Bum Phillips a few decades from now.
Big win for the J-E-T-S. Delighted for my good mate Rocko
Jamaal Charles with his pass blocking has knocked Cushing out of the game, winded JJ Watt and just sickened Ed Reed on a safety blitz there.
Come on to fuck, The Colts!!!

33-14 Luck is on fire. Broncos buckling
Great performance out of Luck and probably just as well for the Broncos to get the unbeaten season pressure off their backs now - let’s see how the Chiefs handle it now.
Looks like Champ Bailey could be returning to the sidelines again. Reggie Wayne went down as well, hopefully it won’t be the last we see of him.

fucking hell, I thought it was a bullshit call watching the game last night, but apparently its a new rule, and they even went so far as to re write it 2 hours after the game ended.
At the same time, it takes only a Google search to understand why there might be some misunderstanding about the rule. The league’s own website, NFL.com, had explained the rule this way for the past six weeks: “Team B players not on the line of scrimmage at the snap cannot push players on the line of scrimmage into the offensive formation.”
An accompanying video had NFL vice president of officiating Dean Blandino saying, “They cannot push from the second level, the down linemen into the offensive formation. … These techniques are dangerous, pushing into the offensive formation, and that’s why we want to get them out of the game.”
But within two hours of the conclusion of the Patriots-Jets game, the NFL.com article explaining the rule had been altered, the league perhaps sensing that there would be a lot more discussion about Rule 9, Section 1, Article 3 following Sunday’s controversial call.
The following sentence in the explainer was eliminated: “Team B players not on the line of scrimmage at the snap cannot push players on the line of scrimmage into the offensive formation.”
The sentence now reads: “Team B players cannot push teammates on the line of scrimmage into the offensive formation.”
Why the change eliminating the reference to players “not on the line of scrimmage at the snap”?
apparently the rule was more for when the linebackers come up and push their defensive linemen into the scrimmage, but the NFL are clarifying that its any player pushing. bit fucked up that the first time ever they throw a flag on this rule is in such a critical moment.
but anyway, despite that, the Patriots were shit and the Jets deserved their win. they completely shut down the Pats offense after the first quarter. Geno Smith was excellent in his thrid down conversions, linking up with Kerley a heap of times. The Jets really played on the mis match of Hightower covering him. Ivory was very good too, made some huge ground at important times.
Fuck the Jets though, a shower of cunts.

The Patriots can’t complain that it was an incorrect flag so their new defence is that they weren’t familiar with the rules. This change was well flagged over the summer, Dean Blandino even took the time to explain it on the Rich Eisen podcast. Could it be that while the rest of the league were familiarising themselves with new rules that the Patriots were focused on murder charges and the likes?
more than likely. wouldnt be the first time the Patriots mis interpreted a rule brought in during the off season. although the last time they did it is still being well publicised. bit odd though that the NFL had to rewrite their explanation of it after the game ended though. plus all their video examples of it showed linebackers pushing linemen, not linemen on linemen. anyhoo, mattered fuck all really, as I said, Jets (the cunts) were more than deserving of their win, and there was a whole lot more wrong with the Pats other than misinterpretation of a rule.
not sure why the Patriots would be focused on murder charges as none of their players were up for that. one former player was caught on a misdemeanor, but they released him before any charges were laid.

How many 3rd downs did we convert, pal?? Gronk had the winnings of that if he took in that catch but like you said, they deserved fuck all from it. Whatever about defensive frailties, I thought our young receivers would kick on after last week- the ball just won’t stick… Is Brady way off or are these guys running wrong routes? When is Talib back?
That was a right kick to lose to such dross.

fuck all third downs. I saw at one stge it was 1 for 8 or something awful like that.
edit, just checked, finished with 1 for 12. shocking.
I think there is fault with Brady and the receivers. They arent sharp enough, and I think this year he has been wayward enough. Hard to know though is it the routes being run wrong or the ball being thrown badly. Either way, the chemistry isnt right yet. A game fit Gronk would have held that ball and strolled in for the gamewinning TD, but fuck it, thats sport. just glad he is back and looked alright. Got a fierce shot on his first catch on his bad arm, 2 Jets players lowered the helmet straight at his arm but he took it alright, so that was good to see. 8 catches for over 100 yards isnt half bad either.
not sure when Talib will be back. he had hip problems last year too, and I dont think he has ever played a full season. but he practised during the week, so shouldnt be a season ending injury anyway. Mayo and Wilfork are massive losses, and without the offence firing, they wont be able to take up the slack.

How many passes were thrown to Gronk? It was a good matchup with Antonio Allen. Neither of them played badly, the pick 6 probably edged the battle for the Jets, plus it was obviously a matchup that the Patriots were targeting.
he was targetted 17 times. some of those would have been thrown away, and he was the nearest player, but the majority were in range as catchable. Pick 6 turned it alright, right at the start of the half on first posession.
Reading there that Brady has been sacked 13 times in the last 3 games - It can’t go on I tells you.
The Colts have now turned over the Broncos and the Seahawks. Legit Super Bowl contenders, no doubt. Luck was absolutely superb again last night, the Colts are so jammy getting him at #1 overall the year Peyton was injured. But the Colts pass rush was impressive again, Mathis has been excellent all season.
The Broncos will bounce back, and I agree with @croppy_boy that the defeat will help calm down the hype. I’d still expect them to beat the Chiefs to the AFC west crown.

Do you think the Chiefs are a legitimate Superbowl contender?
