christ, what fucking language is Trapp speaking in the post match interview?
He is completely fucking incoherent,

Tony is asking tough questions here, as myself and Rocko previously discussed this type of questioning would not be allowed to a rugby football participant by a member of the media

Not true. Questioning of Kidney is pretty tough now as well.

I think he started speaking German. Just another sign he is losing it more than a little bit. His standard of English after 5 years in the job is really really poor. I’d say gazza had more Italian after his time in lazio than trap has English.

What did you make of sammon mickee?

I hear six of the players were born with webbed feet. It’s a miracle they’re playing football at all.

ah look, i dont want to too harsh on a fella who gave it 100%, he ran himself into the ground but i thought the game passed him by really, he’s a bit of a headless chicken and was just charging around the pitch w/o thinking, should have been pulled after an hour as the legs were gone.
he’s not good enough, they were AWFUL at the back, a fella like Sammon however made it easier for them.

football in the north atlantic archipelago is at a low-its not just us that are shit but so are Wales ,England, the Faroes etc etc

We dont play a technical game and as long as luddites such as Gola and Fran are papering over the cracks with their inane shit about the manager we are doomed

I hate Salmon Mickey. Salmon fillet is a much nicer cut.

Clap

Huh? The Barclays Premier League™ is the best league in the world. Weaker leagues such as Serie A simply can’t compete.

Anyone seen this vid from templebar with rival Austrian hooligans going at it? One cop.takes them on initially…

Not up to your usual standard that one Fagan.

Trap as manager has to take a huge chunk of the blame for the other night. Not all mind you as player errors at critical times (Ciaran Clark / that free in injury time) helped the final result.

However saying that Trap is our manager and paid a lot if money to bring his experience to assist our “lesser” players achieve beyond their capabilities.

He made grave errors last night:

 1. Starting Sammon. As said by many he was out if his depth but its not his fault. He was hardly going to say no thanks when asked to play. How Trap thought he was going to be international standard is beyond me.

 2. Paul Green for Long. I think this was the right change. But couldn’t believe that Walters went up top. This was baffling. The game was crying out for a fifth midfielder to stem the tide. The fact that Green came on to play on the right was to prove critical. I think Fagan has said that Coleman’s wing was exposed in last 15. Green’s natural tendency is to play from the centre and he frequently drifted inside leaving that wing open.

 3. Finally and most inexcusable is the fact that, despite admitting in the immediate after-match interview that Ireland were tired, he failed to use all his subs. Surely if he thought players were tired fresh legs had to be brought on. It just confirms his complete lack of confidence in his squad and he was afraid to change things and was hoping to hang on.

Not good enough

Is there anything to be said for bringing back Andy Reid? He’s a good passer.

Gerraway. He’s never passed a dinner table in his life.

If there’s one good thing to come out of the Ciaran Clark selection, it will hopefully be an end to your average workplace EPL gola type saying:

“It’s an absolute joke that {insert name of Irish player lining out with shit EPL club} isn’t in the Ireland team; he’s playing regular Premier League football with {insert name of applicable shit EPL club}.”

Darren O’Dea should have been playing the other night and in Sweden too.

If there’s one thing worse than Gola it’s workplace Gola.

Clark wasn’t just bad for the goal either. His distribution was pathetic all night. We tried a really really basic and frankly embarrassing tip-off routine where Sammon went over to the left wing beside Walters and we rolled the ball back to Clark to hit a long diagonal to them with Long hoping to pick up the break. Clark just hit it straight to their keeper, about 30 yards wide of his intended target. His general passing and hoofing was terrible.

Funny how KIB Man has gone quiet all of a sudden now that Clark has been doing shit.

I was just thinking in the days before the game, while I was wiki’ing the Austrians what it would be like if they wiki’ed our centre-halfs. They’d have seen 1 lad with a European Cup and countless leagues and cups and another lad who played every level underage for England and was now with Ireland.

It’s funny how things are in reality.

Should Sledge have started instead of Clark? Was that another bogey call by Trap?

I guess it depends on how fit he is. I don’t really know why Clark moved ahead of O’Dea.

O’Dea:D
