I dropped the brother in law up to The Blackrock for an overnight procedure years ago. I overnighted in a local B&B and mixed with the locals. If I didn’t know beforehand, I certainly knew after that, that I’d never live in Dublin.
Disappointing attitude. You’re in danger of being crossed off my list of heroes.
The sea doesn’t discriminate. All are welcome. The numbers of dryrobe types have dropped hugely in the last month anyway. Anyone swimming in this month is sound in my book.
I’m smelling a rat here. A roodle chap with no mates or relatives to stay with up in Dublin? Or the ‘procedure’ for ‘your mate’ was of a highly personal / embarrassing /treatment for an std nature so you kept it on the qt?
I had a sister up there at the time I’d say, but back in those days with no GPS, I like most people, would know how to get to Croke park in North Dublin and luckily I knew how to get from the Red Cow to Bray, so I stuck to that route.
I thought it was mostly a heart hospital at the time but I see from their website that they’ll chance almost anything now. I think he had a blast or a stent or both.
