I’ve spoken to Bandage, Jugs and my brother-in-law about this. It’s now acceptable to like these guys. The following songs are top notch:

They are piss poor knob jockeys.
Never Forget is a decent tune, no doubt about it. I might go off downloading it now.
Sky used Rule the World for their montage of last years Champions League final so Take That are ok in my book. 
If there is one thing worse than a music snob it’s these people who pick out a previous uncool band and big them up out trying to be cool.

No-one is considering buying any of their records or paying to see them play live (at least I should hope not) but I don’t think it’s being pretentious to point out that some of their songs are tolerable.
I think it is a bit unfair to say they are utter shite farmer considering how many number ones they have had, how many albums they have sold and how many fans they have played to worldwide, they may not be your cup of tea but no need to say that about them…I wouldn’t be a fan of them but wouldn’t call their music shite either…
