this lad lost his job yesterday over a joke on twitter
same people who were outraged about his joke will now be outraged over todayâs murders claiming people should be able to make jokes
people should be allowed make jokes without consequence - you might find them distasteful but ultimately itâs a joke
Exactly. Justifying these killings by pointing to what the west is doing in Muslim countries is bizarre and twisted logic. These fuckers shot unarmed civilians. Fuck off and mount a war against their oppressors if they feel oppressed not shooting cartoonists, thereâs fuck all excuse for that.
I think any statement that equates the âstupidityâ of the magazine journalists with âstupidityâ of the terrorists is just unbelievably ill-advised and wrong-headed. It may not be your direct intention but youâve used five adjectives to describe the terrorists - two of which are âstupidâ and âtouchyâ and youâve used one of those to describe those who were killed. Describing the attacks as inevitable, bound to happen, having decreased sympathy because of who the victims were, equating their stupidity to that of the terrorists (again, however ill-constructed your point was) is just preposterous.
There is nothing inevitable or justifiable or mitigating about killing those people. You appear to have absolutely no concept of satire - its intentions or what might reasonably be expected to be a reaction to satire.
Boom. +1. Exactly.
The rest of the vast, powerful, fearless, outspoken tradition that is the Western press is too intimidated to publish a single cartoon that might conveivably provoke a Muslim.
Absolute bollix.
Not knowing your enemy or itâs capabilities or maybe then doing so and still antagonizing them is stupid.
Stupidity shouldnât lead to such violence generally, but I think everyone knows at this stage, it can.
You have completely missed what I was saying, and I ainât going back over it.
Donât go back over it Kevin. You are being ridiculous and by sticking to your argument you are showing yourself up in a very poor light and entirely lacking in empathy.
Fox News is hilarious at the moment. Terrorism, terrorism, terrorism.
Anyone else find calling this incident a terrorist attack against France slightly stupid? To me, these lads looked like assassins. Well trained assassins who were probably well paid by some wealthy nut to take this crowd down a peg or two. No one can say for sure they are linked to any organisation. They acted with such precision it looks highly unlikely these guys were Islamic nuts so to speak.
Auteuil on 1st March still going ahead

This fits the bill far more than what happened in sydney i think, which was just a lone nutcase. These killers werenât screaming about avenging children and women killed in iraq or palestine, they were there to kill innocent people over a cartoon. This is a direct attack on western way of life, if any editors had balls thered be back channeling to publish the offending cartoons frontpage worldwide tomorrow. As for the dont publish if it angers them approach, educated women, homosexuality gambling and drinking also draw their ire so we better outlaw all those and hide under the bed immediately.

Chechens speaking Russian is what I am hearing.
Fact they did the job and made their escape suggests they were well trained. Police response seems to have been very slow/inadequate.
I actual think you are just pretending to be that naive for the sake of argument.
Let me ask you, whatâs your take on the IRA Bombing campaign of the 70âs/80âs and some of the innocents killed.

Justified. The IRA were at war and the these attacks were in alignment with their objectives.
