Not good. Could be the spark the powder keg is waiting for. Although I think the Turks and the Russians have been getting on better these days so they should be able to muddle through.
I think the world was a bit closer to the edge at that stage than it is now. Several similarly capable super powers eying each other up. In reality the US is streets ahead of the Russians at the moment militarily. Still though a lame duck US president handing over to an isolationist the timing could be right. The Turks are in NATO though so I doubt the Russians will be wading in there, in theory that automatically triggers WW3/the end of the world.
