Having been on a bus from Lille to Amsterdam which stopped for half an hour at Antwerp the day of the Brexit referendum last June, and having got out, had a smoke and had a quick walk around the main square there, this failed terrorist attack strikes very close to home for me.

I didnât want to say it yesterday for fear of jumping on the grief bandwagon, but Iâve walked over Westminster Bridge several times, the last in 1993. I know itâs a different bridge and all, but I walked over Tower Bridge as recently as 2012.
So Iâm counting my blessings that I wasnât caught up in yesterdayâs attack.
