Have you ever actually been to Australia? It’s a highly successful multicultural society. There are a few fuckwits who harp back to the frontier wars and Britain. There’s right wing facistos everywhere, here no more than anywhere else.

Ultimately I think it is a tool of oppression … I think it taps into the most vicious type of indoctrinated misogyny and control over women… However, while I dont like it, I fully support people’s rights to wear, or not wear, whatever they like. The two things are not mutually exclusive …
I have been and I have met scores upon scores of (white) Australians on my travels … I dont know if I have ever met a more racist group in my life… there’s a real toxic macho / racist tone to Ozzie men … the women are sound out, but they are a bit laddish.

This Anning lads back story is instructive.
Anning grew up in north-west Queensland on Wetherby Station, one of the Anning family’s pastoral properties near the isolated town of Richmond. Meanwhile 69 women were murdered by men here last year and we do fuck all about it.

It’s not in any way surprising. It’s exactly in keeping what she has been spouting for years. This isn’t a “heel turn”. This is what she is and it’s been obvious since 2016 at the latest. People like her are a genuine danger to society.
