Terrific stuff from Dale Steyn earlier today. He really is a fearsome sight when he builds up a head of steam.
he went 68 overs without a wicket. Must have been seething. Amazing to think he is still only 30

unfortunatly for some reason the fucking radio 4 commnetary is on 5 live extra and its blocked so im stuck with the awful sky commnetary.
anyway, i backed a draw at 11/1 and australia now at 6/4
england will bottle this
2-25 AM - signing in for the long haul with a pot of tea and funsize mars bars[/quote]
They are cunts for blocking the feed. The first night of the Ashes they forgot to block it until around 6am CET. Then Stephens night they put the Radio 4 commentary on 5 live and it was unblocked. But some fucking jobsworth blocked it the night after.
Cook looks very composed here, the black fella is a joke
Nice helmet though. He will get about 27 and then be out.
Its a joke that there’s another Ashes series coming up again in 18 months. Its actually disgraceful what the ICC did with the test calendar to accommodate Australia hosting the world cup next year. England to South Africa and West Indies to Australia which would ordinarily have been scheduled for 2013/14 get shunted back two years, for this back to back Ashes, meaning it’ll be 6 years since England & West Indies last toured in South Africa & Australia, whereas England are back to Australia for the Ashes only 3 years since they were last there.
Its utterly farcical that there’s only two test matches between South Africa and India the top two teams in the world when England & Australia are playing each other 10 times in under 6 months.
And Sri Lanka hardly play any test cricket.
Brad Haddin. Gutsy bastard.
Finally…
54/0 at lunch, a lead of 105. Got to get a night’s sleep tonight so signing off. Fully expect England to be an impregnable position when I wake up.
I genuinely hope you die in your sleep.
104/4 now after a mini-collapse.
England lead by 155.
Finely balanced now.
Sir Geoffrey at his belligerent best here on TMS. I make it 1 hour and 52 minutes until the next shipping forecast.

The obvious thing to do would have been to shift this Ashes series back a year to 2015/16 rather than move it a year forward, and to have kept the normal four year cycle for the English Ashes series.
There’s a real danger of Ashes overkill, just like what happened when the Winter Olympic cycle moved in 1994.
The Ryder Cup example where the disrupted cycle gave us an extra fallow year in 2001 should have been the one to follow.
Sir Geoffrey is worried that the English batsmen could pull a fetlock drinking coffee as we go in for tea.
86-1 to 87-4 and then 173-5 to 179 all out. Those two collapses equate to 8 wickets down for 7 runs. Sir Geoffrey bests sums up the mood of all England fans - ‘dispiriting’.
Another cracking test match shaping up in Durban. India have taken 3 quick wickets, South Africa gone from 103/0 to 113/3, still 221 behind India’s first innings score of 334.
At 30/0 needing to reach 231, Australia still need to complete the highest successful run chase at the MCG since 1963 to win.
Don’t rule out an English victory similar to the Boxing Day test in 1998 when Dean Headley, Darren Gough and Angus Fraser bowled the Australians out for 175 to win by 12 runs.
I think they are broken Sidney. Australia will win by five wickets.
Glad you made it through the night, Manuel. Have you seen the dismissals yet? Shit batting, good bowling or a mixture? Lyon getting 5 wickets on a third day pitch surprised me.
