Test Match Cricket

Tuffers and Vaughan are on 5 live tonight discussing it if anyone is interested. Will listen to the podcast in the car tomorrow morning.

have to say I like Brian Moore, very knowledgeable on a lot of subjects

KP has shafted by a fat bitter prick

Turned out as I expected it would. Strauss is straight-laced, a bit of a geek and his pride was hurt at the 2012 antics so no surprise he didn’t want to wipe the slate clean.

Australia haven’t been to Pakistan since 1998. Threw the toys out of the pram and chickened out of going there almost 10 years before the rest of the ICC test playing teams.

The wicket in England hasn’t exactly been to Australia’s liking in recent times. Possibly as many as 9 of the Australian side that will start in Cardiff - Warner, Rogers, Watson, Clarke, Smith, Haddin, Johnson, Harris & Lyon all featured in England two years ago - the first Australian side since 1977 that failed to win a test in an Ashes series.

Talking about bringing him in as an “advisor” to rebuild trust is the biggest load of shit. They knew well that would unpalatable to him. Strauss has waited to get one over him and he has. The ECB have been a shambles from beginning to end with this, inviting KP back to try and win his place back and then that meeting. Seething for KP here.

Strauss stated there was “a trust” issue, what a small, petty man, he has waited for his chance to fuck KP over, fuck him over good and proper

KP coming out with some explosive allegations, claiming he has heard from reliable sources “that it doesn’t matter if England win during the summer”

Yes but there is only a home ashes series once every four years.

It obviously doesn’t when you leave your best batsman on sideline

ECB talking about trust issues with KP while leaking news of Peter Moores being sacked to the media before he was informed himself. Shocking double standards at play here, pal.

I think Alec Stewart said that he thinks the ECB don’t care about this summer in an interview on Test Match Special last night. It was mentioned before they read out the KP article anyway.

Vaughan was very strong in saying that KP should be drafted straight back for 20/20.

Joe Root is England’s best batsman right now.

Yeah, listened to the first half of it. Stewart and Vaughan both said that they could have said “we don’t see you playing tests because the middle order is solid barring injury. But we need you in the 20/20 and ODI set up to use your experience”. It’s quite clear that Strauss and Cook don’t want him near any team.

If Pietersen was operating close to the level he was at from his debut in 2005 right through to 2011 (when he was probably the best batsman in the world), the case for his inclusion would be persuasive. He was a declining force in the few years up to his final appearance in the 2013/14 Ashes and over the last year in particular his form was poor. He averaged about 30, had just the one century in well over a year (at Old Trafford in the 3rd Ashes test) his reflexes were showing marked signs of deteriorating and his powers of concentration looked shot as he just kept throwing away his wicket. As things stand at the moment, England’s middle order looks about the strongest part of their team with Ballance, Bell and Root at 3, 4 & 5. If Pietersen was a front line off spinner, an opening batsman or an express paced fast bowler, I could understand the clamour for his inclusion. This is all a bit like the campaign for the selection of Mark Ramprakash in 2009 on the back of some good county form - but without all the hysteria and the personal stuff from people who should know better.

Yes I’ll ceed that to you that , he is one of those BIG mouth Yorkshire men his captain so like

JOE will be captain by end of year …and I know he would love KP on board …KP his hero !

KP is th best of all time

You can put up whatever stats you want but If Pieterson isn’t a better batsman than Ian Bell I’ll eat my hat.

Much better…
