Every time they asked for a review he was not out, but before all of that he was out but they didn’t ask for a review after the umpire gave not out.
England bowl Bangladesh out for 248 but slumped to 28/3 to lead by 70 at lunch.
250 would be a challenging target I’d imagine.
They have that 228/8 at the close_emphasized text_
Final session of the day and presumably match coming up. Bangladesh need 107 more, England 5 more wickets. Could be a cracker. Great effort by Bangladesh in the chase so far on this pitch. England still favourites though, get the feeling one early breakthrough will do it.
Cagey first hour after tea, making a mockery of my confident assertion that it would be the last session of the match. Need 80 more. Surprisingly almost exclusively seam bowled there. Rashid a few overs at the end, looks dangerous. Cook quite defensive in tactics, both in bowling seam and not giving Rashid more men around the bat. Broad to continue now.
Bangladesh need 62 runs now with 5 wickets in hand. They’ll get those runs.
Batty makes the breakthrough. England ran through their tail first time around. Pitch is misbehaving. England still favourites.
Broad strikes. 52 left to get, 7 wickets down.
Broad strikes again. Sabbir on debut still at the crease on 55. Batting very well. Probably needs to take a few more risks now.
And we are done for the day. Bangladesh need 33 more, 8 wickets down. Well set up for the morning. Think I’ll record it and watch before work.
All over. Won’t spoil it for Braz.
Just watched it. NFL overran, so Sky only came on for what turned out to be the final over. I’m seething.
Fitting that it all ended up with two reviews of that clown Dharmaseena’s decisions, one of which was overturned. Don’t think I’ve seen a worse display of umpiring in an international match since Harper was still on the circuit. Good win for England in the end, but Ashwin will be licking his lips.
India will destroy them. There will be a couple of innings defeats. I wonder will Ballance get dropped?
He won’t be dropped yet, but he’s lucky to even be on the tour really. They haven’t left themselves with many options with the batting line up. Buttler would be the most direct swap, but he’s no number four. Perhaps shift Bairstow up, he’s wasted at seven anyway. Alternative is to shift Duckett down and bring in the young lad from Lancashire to open. He’s very well thought of.
Yeah the lad from Lancashire was unlucky, he got no batting time before the Test match but Duckett got a few runs in the ODIs so he got the nod… They would like a look at Hameed before India I suppose. I’d move Duckett down and would drop Ballance, he doesn’t add a lot. Good close in fielder though.
Most fat lads try to ensure they are good close in fielders
Probably will, but they’ll hardly see a pitch like that again which turns from day one with a new ball.
I think they will see pitches like that for the next six tests actually.
Hardly as bad. The Indians will surely not want every test over inside three days.
Maybe they will?
