Test Match Cricket

OK I was reliably informed that the injured party was caught videoing a prominent team mate of Ben getting a blow job in the nightclub jacks. Likely with a view to selling it to a tabloid.

Ben Stokes is some piece of work all the same.

@Fagan_ODowd, @anon70480284, is he one of the Stokes from Ballybeg?

He would be I’d say, they are a talented family

Gents, are we doing a separate Ashes thread? I don’t think this series merits such an honour and we should probably keep it on this one.

Steve Finn on his way home injured.
Meanwhile Mitchell Starc became the first player in Sheffield Shield history to take two hat tricks in a match in NSW’s 171 run win over WA yesterday. Glen Maxwell scored a nice century for the Bushrangers also.

There’s a bbc 5 live podcast out about the 5-0 thrashing of 2013/14

Is Ben Stokes going to feature?

Doubt it

Sir Viv was saying something yesterday about him neing here by the third test. They’ll need him.

Australia have decided that its time to ibtroduce some new talent into the test team.
Glenn Maxwell has been dropped and an exciting young player called Shaun Marsh has been given his chance. Lets hope he does well.
So Matthew Wade has also been dropped, which is good because he’s not a very good cricketer and a hopeless gloveman. Naturally the selectors have brought the best wicketkeeper in the coubtry, Peter Nevill, back in. Haven’t they?
No they haven’t. They’ve picked Tim Paine. Yes, I know, I thought he retired years ago as well. He hasn’t even played as a wickie for Tasmania in the shield this season. Think on this - Darren Lehmann (in 2007) has scored a more recent first class century than Paine (2006).
Matthew Renshaw has been dropped after poor form in the Shield saw him score 70 runs in 6 innings. He’s replaced by Cameron Bancroft who has been in some form. Bit rough on Renshaw, but he’ll be back.
Chad Sayers has also been called into the attack, he’s a very strange bowler, his stuff is medium pace and never looks likely, but he took 62 wickets in the Shield last year.
So Australia is panicking. No one knows why.
I expect many more changes to the squad throughout the Ashes.

Meanwhile, Fitzy jnr is also putting his hand up. He’s currently 88 not in a 16B’s match and hopefully the rain will hold off tomorrow for him to claim his first ever century.

Bancroft has scored a decent few runs though? I assume Marsh is a stop gap because Stoinis’ father died last week? Thought they would keep Wade because he is a bit of a wanker?

Marsh is not a stopgap for anything. Marsh is fucking useless, that’s what Marsh is.

I suspect they are panicking about revenues Fitzy

@Fitzy how many runs did the young fella get eventually?

He got the century fairly quickly. Brought it up with a little tickle to the off field for a single. Has to retire on the ton so we declared on 173 after bowling them out for 42 in the first innings and then sent them in again to bowl them for 46, yoing fella taking the last wicket. He had 13 fours and a six. One of our boys took 6 wickets for the match including a hat trick. So we got the bonus points for the outright victory. They’re going well, will challenge for the title if we can get past the cheating bastards from Terrigal.

A lot of confident talk from the Australia players ahead of the first Ashes at the Gabba. I suppose they have every reason to be confident, they look to be a great team in the making and England are a rabble.

Australia are a top order collapse from being a rabble.

Wait until you see the rabble of the England top order. England have only gone past 400 on one occasion in the last 15 Ashes tests. Amazingly, despite such underwhelming batting England won two of those three series. Ian Bell and Ben Stokes were key men in both those series wins but both now gone.

It’s all about runs on the board.
