It is. Stoneman was in good form in the warm up matches, admittedly against patchy enough opposition. England need him to step up to the plate. Cook is a declining force.

Advantage England after that session.
I’ve been out and about this so haven’t seen it, just listening on the radio with the excellent ABC Grandstand team. Seems to me that if England can still be there by mid morning tomorrow and get close to aboilut 250/300, they’ll be in the box seat. There doesn’t seem to be much in the pitch now, but it will break up a bit and make it easier for the english bowlers. Australia have to take a decent amount of wickets this session, they should run through the tail handily enough, but crucial wickets coming up.
We’ve let James Vince settle and he could be on for a good series now.
