152/3. A second run for Ben Stokes. Actually it’s not. A leg bye.

England 156/3 at stumps. 203 runs required tomorrow.

New ball due soon.
Aus should win pulling up. If ingerland can get another hundred for the loss of a couple of wickets, it could be a great finish.

Root out on 77. Yet another failure to convert a half century. After five maiden overs to open the days play, tries to take on Lyon first ball and perishes.

220/4. 139 runs needed.

Looking forward to the afternoon session now.
Why did root go after lyon @GeoffreyBoycott??
Crazy stuff
A slow steady plod is what is needed
This is intriguing stuff now
Whats the RR now on wonder?

That’s what the build up of pressure can do. Runs had completely dried up last hour yesterday, five maiden overs to open this morning. Old tactic of going after spinner to take him out of attack. Ironically enough, losing Root has proved to be a blessing so far. Bairstow started scoring as soon as he came in. This looks very gettable for England. Wicket is fairly flat now. One quick wicket with this England batting line up could change all that though. It’s very delicately poised:

Like any good England batting collapse, a calamitous run out to kickstart it. 253/6. This will be over quickly now.

Stokes has been incredible with both bat and ball in this test.

Archer caught out on the rope slog sweeping Lyon. 286/8

Broad out for a duck. 286/9. Australia one away.

Fascinating cat and mouse stuff now. Stokes can hardly make it home himself. Can he?

Glorious failure I think but some innings from Stokes.

Not from here. They just need to get Leach on strike at start of an over.
