First time India ever declared at Lords.
What a superb test match.
Kohli is a proper leader of men. Root gives off a Southgate-esque assistant librarian vibe. Not Churchillian enough. That said, Stokes, Broad and Woakes would probably have swung this Test Match if available.
Root is a useless captain
The spit of Sheedy in his all-in physicality and urging today - including the intense handclapping. Great performance.
Unlike a lot of England captains, Root’s batting and form has been unaffected by the burden of captaincy and he just seems to operate in his own run making bubble. He’s the best batsman in the game now.
Root is just not a captain though. That was just embarrassing in the field yesterday, his tactics and field placements to bowl out the Indian tail Enders. There’s so many passengers in that England team, a lot to be said for picking a Mike Brearley style specialist captain.
There really isn’t
Pakistan 2/3 after 4 overs on the first day of the second test at Sabina Park. They’ve rallied now to 28/3.
India in trouble at 21-3. Jimmy Anderson with all 3 wickets.
Imagine if root had tried that in the second innings the last day. Radical thinking bowling your best bowler.
puts him level with akram now on all time list of wicket takers. can he over take warne before he retires?
Jimmy Anderson has about 200 test wickets more than Wasim Akram.
never heard of abram
maybe so, but hes level with wasim akram
In all formats they are level. Warney is around 80 ahead of Jimmy using this metric with Murali some way clear in first
This is test cricket. Introducing pyjama cricket into a discussion on test cricket is akin to comparing the scoring tally of some fellow togging out in the Kilmacud Crokes 7’s every year to the Championship scoring records of Joe Canning or Henry Shefflin.
India 60/5
67/7
67/8
must be coming up for a record of golden ducks in a test series?
