TFK - 1916 Remembered - calling histroy people

We have no threads about 1916 just stupid opinions and thatā€™s not history @Rocko I hope you agree

We need some more IRA chat in here, especially as it was this week 35 years ago that Francis Hughes started his hunger strike. Does he not deserve to be commemorated?

Which Limerick man? The one that died in a car crash or the guard on Dublin Castle gate?

Ahh will you get that off ffs

Thread is obviously a joke with all the spelling and grammar mistakes in the title and first post, fix it up and Iā€™ll take it down to preserve the sanctity of this momentous thread.

Great thread Joe. Joe donā€™t take offense mate but I have to ask you, are you only pretending that you canā€™t spell properly? If youā€™re not pretending just take your time and count the syllables in each word. Connect the syllables together.

Good song but blemished by McCannā€™s error filled intro. Grace Gifford met Plunkett when she was 20, so hardly childhood sweethearts. She died in 1955, not 1967, at the age of 67. You would think he could get the basics right.

What McCann failed to mention was Gifford is a symbol of Irelandā€™s post independance history. Raised as a Protestant (making a mockery of @Tim_Riggins clueless assertion that 1916 was a Catholic uprising), member of the Sein Fein executive in 1918 when women werenā€™t allowed vote, imprisioned in Kilmainham by the blueshirt fascists, denied her inheritance by Plunkettā€™s family, an Irish hero living out her days in anonymity and denied her place in history.

The Main Street in Dublin should be called after her instead of the lickspittle Oā€™Connell.
