We have no threads about 1916 just stupid opinions and thatās not history @Rocko I hope you agree
We need some more IRA chat in here, especially as it was this week 35 years ago that Francis Hughes started his hunger strike. Does he not deserve to be commemorated?
Which Limerick man? The one that died in a car crash or the guard on Dublin Castle gate?
Gone
Ahh will you get that off ffs
Thread is obviously a joke with all the spelling and grammar mistakes in the title and first post, fix it up and Iāll take it down to preserve the sanctity of this momentous thread.
Great thread Joe. Joe donāt take offense mate but I have to ask you, are you only pretending that you canāt spell properly? If youāre not pretending just take your time and count the syllables in each word. Connect the syllables together.
Did i ask for your taught on me or 1916. It was 1916
Lay off Joe or iāll kick the bollox off you.
Good song but blemished by McCannās error filled intro. Grace Gifford met Plunkett when she was 20, so hardly childhood sweethearts. She died in 1955, not 1967, at the age of 67. You would think he could get the basics right.
What McCann failed to mention was Gifford is a symbol of Irelandās post independance history. Raised as a Protestant (making a mockery of @Tim_Riggins clueless assertion that 1916 was a Catholic uprising), member of the Sein Fein executive in 1918 when women werenāt allowed vote, imprisioned in Kilmainham by the blueshirt fascists, denied her inheritance by Plunkettās family, an Irish hero living out her days in anonymity and denied her place in history.
The Main Street in Dublin should be called after her instead of the lickspittle OāConnell.
He seems like a real character, heās now fixed the opening post and most of the title but left the histroy
Sorry Joe, Iām new around here, didnāt realise you were so well got
No prob bud we were all knew
Prick.
