Their share of the Single Farm Payment/Reps 5 and Headage payments are all due on the 28/06/2015. They’re bundling it all in with a deferment of the childers allowance/no dole for a month and other ancillary monies. They’ll be grand. The greatest hits of Demis Roussos CD will make up the difference.
[QUOTE=“TreatyStones, post: 1153571, member: 1786”]Conflicting reports on the Greek situation tonight.
They have apparently said they won’t be paying an installment due tomorrow but will be bundling all the payments for this month together and will pay them all on June 30th. Apparently this is acceptable under IMF rules, and indications earlier today were that an overall deal was close but the Guardian are leading with:

The Greeks keep indicating a deal is close, everyone else not so much. The bundling up buys them more time and there is no point handing over the little bit of cash you have if you plan on defaulting shortly.
Syrzia are going to get absolutely nothing like the deal they promised the Greek people so some talks they’ll call another election or have a referendum on it.
Greece cannot continue without further write offs.

Not as much talk from SF and that odious messer Murphy linking themselves to Syrzia these days …
A very big part of this is the Germans etc don’t want to be seen conceding to the lefties as this would encourage the Irish, Spanish, Italians, Portuguese etc. to vote in left wing Governments to do similar.
They know Greece can’t pay the money back, but they have to make them suffer.

did the Spanish and Italians make any inroads on payments?..i just can’t see them sneaky toads coughing up like us…its just not in their nature
Are you not married to a sneaky toad so?
The Spanish under took a lot of reforms about two years after we did and are at about the same stage in recovery we were two years.
The Italians have been much slower to act but they are in a slightly different position due to the structure of their market etc.
No. and what difference does it make?..there’s 48m people there so they are hardly all sneaky…but as far as politicians go you’d want to be one sneaky bastard to get up the food chain there…you wouldn’t believe the strokes they pull… sure just look at some of the top football clubs there and what they owe the tax man…

The Irish voting left wing? Don’t make me laugh. Ye will all run back to FF. The Spanish perhaps. The Italians gave a lot of votes to the fascist Grillo the last time.
This is not the end, this is just the beginning.
We will have a socialist paradise by the time Kilmallock win another county.
Our man Tspiras is out @ 6pm Greek time, 4pm our time speaking to the Greek parliment.
Might say something might say nothing. Outside chance he’ll call an election. Even more outside chance he’ll call a referendum.
Probably won’t say too much. Never know though he might go nuclear.
He’s been onto Vlad today

Hasn’t started yet, nearly an hour late (got to love the Greeks :D), but they did release a statement basically saying everyone can fuck right off, Greece will not be compromising
Exclamation marks the whole lot!!!
Next October? Janey…
Don’t hold your breath pal.
The IMF have SENSATIONALLY broken off talks with the Greeks
“There are major differences between us in most key areas,” IMF spokesman Gerry Rice told reporters in Washington. “There has been no progress in narrowing these differences recently and thus we are well away from an agreement.”
