An SUV very similar to the one in the below image pulled up outside my house within seconds of posting.

Fly back Monday evening. Bit of both. Mainly the latter on this occasion I think. MLK Day on Monday so decided to stay for the playoffs and go on a bit of a bender Sunday.
I know how close we came. I hear it every night in the pub
Were you on a NYC rooftop last may by any chance?
No. Haven’t been in NYC since this time last year.
Easiest way to invest in ETF’s in Irl?
If people have money to invest, go find some local companies who think will go somewhere and invest in them. Do a deal with them based on results. There are people out there all the time with great ideas.
Go to the colleges or to somewhere NuBus or the likes.
Fuck giving it to some latchico like Julio to take his cut and then play games with it. You’ debate as well of giving it to paddy power and having a cut off it with something you know about like hurling or soccer or something.
It’s all about your risk and not theirs. Fuck that.

Anybody who gave €1,000 to me to invest when I started my imaginary betting thread is now €181,000 richer.
The cheapest though not necessarily the easiest are TD Waterhouse. Something like €15 a trade.

Is this your way of asking people for money?
Cheers for that. Someone mentioned Dolmen above - I have an account there as a result of some old company share scheme. The standing fees just to keep an account open (i.e without trades) are pretty high and unreasonable. Prob going to close it as a result.

Investing in start ups is probably the highest risk investment of them all. The vast majority fail, of those that don’t very few would make enough to give you anything more than a marginal return on your money. How many local companies can you name that have gone from start up to a proper business in the last twenty years? A handful*?
I personally think single stock picking is for absolute mugs, but between investing in Mick down the road and some company that is listed on the stock market, I think I can confidently say where the latchico investment advice is coming from.
*I’m expecting great anecdotes here about Kev’s mate John who invested in a local company with potential and made a packet.
If you don’t need any advice you may as well go with the cheapest.
Agreed and as per what you were hinting at above invest into low-fee ETFs and index trackers
Check out Vanguard ETF’s mate, best in class. I should clarify that the cheapest isn’t always the best but TD Waterhouse are an international company so you should be safe enough.

You miss the point. Many fail within a year, usually down to investment and confidence. If investors were directed differently you may have different results.
Most success stories I know of come from lads with no investment and fuck all money and just hard work and balls. Not parasites making money from impoverished countries mineral resources. Another pointless middleman stealing from the people.
Ah right, I have a Dublin living cork friend who was married on a NYC rooftop last may, hence it thought there may have been a connection.

Misconception on here that I am from Cork. I never corrected it. I might as well now.
I am not from Cork. I just have a connection to Cork hurling team. I’m a Dub.
