It’s strange that I haven’t ever heard of the two winners in the 70s.
Fucked up as well that Wells would only have been .24 seconds ahead of FloJo 8 years later.

True but the Americans boycotted in 1980. Wells might not have even got a medal if they ran. I am sure @GeoffreyBoycott will clarify.

Oh I’m well aware of that, he had a PB of 10.11 when the record was 9.95 so he wasn’t as far off the pace as some might suggest but it worked out perfectly for him. He was forever popping up in Tiger and Hotspur comics, a real life tough of the track.
