I was there this morning picking up the officials for todayâs match. Itâs a nice hotel in the middle of a building site. The Villa team stay there the night before home matches. @flattythehurdler and a team playing champions league is some alumni
FAO of @Piles_HussainâŚwhat are BUSINESSMEN wearing in professional settings in the Benelux region these days? Iâm thinking chinos, shirt, open collar, no tie & association football manager shoesâŚrather than suit, tie & more formal shoes. Discuss.
Maybe you should have a button leg chinos so you can whip it off if you need your nappy changed.
I chortled at that tbf
You should be ok like that. I myself am strictly a polo neck t and jeans motherfucker.
Thank you. I said Benelux but Iâm actually off to France. I donât think âBeneluxâ captures France but I wanted to put suspect posters off the scent & felt the same rules would apply due to proximity & cultural similarities. Itâs very stressful these days, you donât want to arrive into a meeting only to let yourself, your employer & your country down by dressing inappropriately. 30 degree temperatures in the south of France complicate matters further this week but Iâll roll the dice & see what transpires.
A beret then.
France would be a tin of fruit and an open neck shirt. Formal shoes, novelty socks.
I always go with white, navy, or black shirts or polo shirts when in hot conditions.
Never go full Commacho.
The scent should be easy enough to follow
Slacks, a white smart casual shirt and a smart jacket I would wear. Decent shoes. I generally operate on the rule of thumb that itâs better to be overdressed than underdressed.
Are you meeting clients or your own crew? If client stick to tin of fruit and fitted white shirt. If your own crew, tailored beige/khaki trousers or chinos with navy short sleeved shirt and similar coloured sports jacket. Skip the football manager shoes. Itâs over 30 in Paris tomorrow according to my French work amis so god knows what itâs going to be down south. Extra Lonsdale boxers from Sports Direct are a must.
@Bandage is not an extra lonsdale anymore, heâs in great nick
Iâve just arrived in the south of France. If the others are all wearing suits then Iâm going to be really embarrassed.
A truly confident guy would be doing his own thing here
