Not sure on tenure. I had heard before that the initial contracts for some hotels were 6 months.
The Hydro itself has 110 rooms but The Whites have another hotel in this scheme also so I assume the second hotel is built into this contract also. No idea on the amount of rooms in the second Hotel.

Well very few of them have English as it happens. They’ll openly tell you it’s mainly for money and welfare that they come here for. By not returning any of them, we are forcing them into the clutches of criminals, people smugglers etc.
Also, and this may be a hard take, but we are talking about asylum here. It’s supposed to be a last ditch escape from a land where you are in genuine fear of persecution. Too many economic migrants are arriving claiming to be asylum seekers. If that’s what people want, fair enough, but it’s not asylum
Sure its well known if you get in through syria or ukraine you can get free passage anywhere in europe. So what’s happening? You get to syria or ukraine and get out through there. Unvetted
It’s a result of a broken system. Southern European countries can’t accommodate them all, so of course they’ll move. Simple really. The EU would have agree a system to share the burden long ago if not for Hungary and Poland blocking it.
Economic migrants, as you call them, won’t get asylum. You’re talking about a different thing there now.
Where do people travel to Syria from? How do they get from there to here? No vetting of people coming from Syria at all you say?
There is none whatsoever of people from Ukraine. Not even customs checks.

Who is meant to vet them,when and where
I’m not. A huge number who claim asylum are, by any metric, economic migrants. They’ll get asylum because the system is broken, especially in Ireland where you can essentially wait out a deportation order.
If you claim you’re a Ukrainian resident, you are in. End of.
Is the take out here that they are unvetted rather than asking who should have done it, or am I missing something here?

No idea. Not my area. Just confirming that they aren’t at the border. If they turn up for their IPO interview they can be vetted I suppose. And if they don’t well, who cares. They’re in anyway
Ive no idea what it means either but read in twitter that all asylum seekers regardless of where they are from are unvetted as its illegal to contact the original home country to validate the claim. It might be wrong but unvetted seems to be the word out there today
