The 150th Open Championship at St Andrews

6 hours to play a round yesterday with all the waiting with crossover fairways and double greens. And lashing rain this morning.

The soft conditions have definitely helped this mornings starters and leaderboard looks quite compact now. Greens look a lot more receptive and there are some low scores out there. Will probably firm up in afternoon.

Really good leaderboard now

He’ll have the weekend off how unfortunately

Emotional scenes as tiger appears to wave good bye

Farewell Big Cat

Who’s this lad David Carey at all?
Never heard of him.

Big John Daly might be hanging round for the weekend.

Mcilroy going to face the worst of the conditions unless the wind dies away.

This lad Cam Smith going well. Grand golfer.

Qualifier from Dublin.

This Smith lad has played well all year without being right in the mix over the closing holes but he’s been there or thereabouts. Trousered nice money this far I’d imagine. Nice golfer for a slight enough lad.

Last group going out now. They’ll finish around 10.30.

He won twice early in the year

Think he won the fifth Major, the Players in Sawgrass this year. . It was quiet emotional. His sisters came over from Australia to greet him at the last. He hadn’t seen them for two years because of the Covid.

Three groups backed up here at the tee box. For fuck sake you wouldn’t see this at the monthly medal.
