I feel the French are often on the wrong end of dubious TMO decisions and strange refereeing interpretations when they come up against the home nations (cc @ChairmanDan).

It’s probably a cultural thing. Lot of the southern hemisphere referees in particular don’t speak French. Fortunately for France today, the cultured Wayne Barnes is a fluent French speaker.
