The advanced gardening thread

I’d need to get a ton delivered. But I’d take it yes if I got it. Problem is I’m Limerick and LK and surrounds is all limestone.

No one is going to deliver you a ton of stones from Wicklow to Limerick, unless you pay the serious money.

This is why the TFK call has gone out.

Galway stone based in Ardrahan. Might be doing a run down that way. I often pass them on the way to Limerick. Ring them and ask.

Make an awful mess in the garden using salt to kill the whures

Did you use a propegator to germinate the seeds or were they ok on a window sill?

I just had them by a window. But a few didn’t germinate so if you’ve a yoke that helps that I’d use it. I didn’t get any jalapenos sadly.

If you haven’t got an electric propagator or a seed tray with a plastic lid, a sealed freezer bag works well just sitting on the window sill.

An old clear plastic cover from a vinyl album works a treat too.

There is a national shortage of large freezer bags at the moment for some reason.

There is indeed. I got a couple of packs of xl freezer bags in Tescos in Ardkeen at the weekend. Neither Ardkeen Stores nor SuperValu in Sutton had anything bigger than small freezer bags.

Nor Aldi or the local Supervalu here.

Don’t remember Aldi or Lidl doing freezer bags.

It looks like a lost cause alright. Hard to even get a quote, and when I do it’s ridiculous.

Funny thing is I could get a company to ship down a larger stone for €50. They don’t have the stone I want.

Did you ring Galway stone?

Email only.
Emails stopped when I said I only wanted one bag. They want to ship 20 or 30 for a full driveway. Can’t blame them I suppose. They have this stuff called “blinding”. Never heard of it before. Looks good on the top of the bag as the dust has been washed away, but underneath it’s just dust really.

Lucky escape there.

In fairness that guy in Hollywood was very helpful if I could have organised delivery myself.
