Must be a bit toxic for the weeds if it’s killing them?

Is it a bit late in the year to treat moss in the lawn?

The stuff went mad during the wet September. I’d prefer using a bacterial treatment rather than iron sulphate.

Gymea Lily in my native plant verge flowering a fee weeks ago with a spike about 6 metres high. These are endemic to the Central Coast, magnificent plants.

After a few false starts and not actually being here in September (planting month), the summer vegetable garden is up and running.
With a new addition in the form of a steel arch, so we’re introducing some verticality into the show.
This was actually a sheet of reo about 3m x 3m I found someone throwing out. Not having a truck, I ended up carrying it and walking nearly 1km home with it, no doubt looking like a complete gobshite. Got the angle grinder at it and away we go. Cucumbers and Beans starting to grow up it now.

I see a compost supplier called Tippland that I never heard of before are supplying fairly good peat based composts. Don’t know how they got permission to harvest a bog just off Lough Derg. But like I said it’s good stuff so buy while you can.

Thank me later…

You shouldn’t be using peat based compost.

Wet wipe.

We shouldn’t.
There was a sample bag open and at least it wasn’t full of sticks and lumps.
But if it’s in the shops it might as well be me buying it as somebody else.

This Moss Peat bag really surprised me.
You can even buy it in bulk.

The Passionfruit tree was getting a bit old and straggly and I was thinking of getting rid and replacing it with a espaliered Pear.
The local delinquents, sorry, cockatoos, have sped up that process by completely stripping it of unripe Passionfruit this evening, the fuckers.

Sensational effort

I do, they’re awful vandals and they’ll decimate the sunflowers in a couple of months. But they’re tremendous entertainment.
