On form he has a way tougher draw alright.
What form?
@Cicero_Dandi is all over the place on this thread. Heās spend the last few weeks bigging up 6ft 6 giraffe/dinosaurs saying they were the players who excel on grass. Now that theyāve pretty much all ended up in Federerās half of the draw - Ivo Karlovic, Big Kevin Anderson, Milos Raonic, Gilles Muller, Marin Cilic and John Isner, heās done a complete flip flop and is essentially saying that theyāre actually not very good and its an easy draw for a near 37 year old, semi retired 6ft 1 Federer having all these 6ft 6 giraffe/dinosaurs in his half of the draw.
Iām not the one flip flopping.
You think Anderson is a journeyman, now youāre saying Federerās draw is tough. The highest seed player he can meet before the semi final is a journeyman by your own words.
Plenty of big servers on the latter side of the draw - Del Porto, Kyrgios, Murray, Zverev, Edmund to name a few
No Iām not. You were the one that came on here first saying Federer had an easy draw from the . Iām pointing out that applying your criteria itās a tough draw with all these 6ft 6 giraffe/dinosaurs you claim excel on grass in his half. You specifically name checked and even put up video footage of Ivo Karlovic as excelling on grass. Federer could face Karlovic in Round 3.
Has Nadal got many 6ft 6 giraffe/dinosaurs in his potential path? I see heās seeded to face a 5ft 6 midget Diego Schwartzman in the round of 16.
Beep beep beep. The Boycott backtrack is in reverse.
Are you now saying the highest seed Federer could face before the semi final is not a bum?
What have the hardcourts at Flushing Meadows to do with the lush green grass of the Championship? Iām just applying your criteria and pointing out your flip flopping, hypocrisy and double standards. Youāve spent months bigging up 6ft 6 giraffe/dinosaurs as the prototype grass court specialists. This morning when Federerās draw got stacked with these type of players, you do a complete flip flop and say that Federer has an easy draw and these type of players are actually not very good.
Holocaust denier.
Youāre trying to deflect.
Do you still consider the highest seed Federer could face before the SF a ābumā?
Ah here, @Cicero_Dandi has been on here the last couple of weeks banging on about how you only need to be a 6ft 6in giraffe/Dinosaur with a big serve to win Wimbledon, Now that the draw has been made he flip flopping. Make up your mind will ya?
Federer vs Coric will be interesting especially after Coricās result in Halle. As for Anderson well I see him the same way I see Isner, they have good first serves but nothing to back this up and this is the reason that they have never won a slam. Unlike @Cicero_Dandi assertion that all you need a big serve and you will win, to win a slam or ATP regularly you need to also have the game to back up the big serve. This is what Sampras, Federer, Nadal, Murray, Djokovic have/had that the likes of Andersson and Isner donāt have.
Never said that. I said a big serve alone will get you very far in Wimbledon.
Keep up.
Itās a very decent draw for Federer, if he canāt get by that bunch to the SF on his favourite surface then should be embarrassed.
It could be awkward enough for Federer. Borna Coric is one of the most talented youngster on tour, beat the Great Man in Halle last week and would be a very tricky last 16 opponent if it comes to pass. He wouldnāt be lacking in confidence beating the Great Man in Halle last week. I donāt expect Kevin Anderson to play to his seed and make the quarter final and the likes of Gael Monfils a more likely quarter final opponent. What is difficult for Federer though is that he is seeded for the more difficult semi final opponent - 3rd seed Cilic and not 4th seed Zverev. Zverev has never made it past the fourth round at the Championship and Iād be sceptical as to whether heās recovered from his injury at the French Open. Cilic is my tournament favourite. Heās been very good over the last twelve months - beaten finalist at the Championship last year, finalist at the Australian (pushing the Great Man to 5 sets), even made the quarters on his least favourite surface at Roland Garros and is the in form player after winning Queens last week.
Sir Andy and Djokovic are both on the bottom half, but its difficult to see either of them raising a gallop. Sir Andy has been out for 12 months and like just about any player, heās struggling to find form after such a long absence - lost first round at Queenās and to Kyle Edmund in the last 16 at Eastbourne this week.
Djokovic hasnāt made it past a Grand Slam quarter final since 2016 and has been below his best for a long time from a combination of loss of form, injury problems and loss of appetite. At 31, his best days might just be behind him for good.
Have you decided whether the highest seed Federer could meet before the SF is still a bum or not?
Your senile dementia is drawing more unwanted attention again.
Contrary to what you have claimed, a big serve alone has never got John Isner or Ivo Karlovic very far at the Championship.
In 9 appearances, Isner has exited Round 1 twice, Round 2 four times and Round 3 three times.
In 13 appearances, Karlovic has exited Round 1 six times, Round 2 three times and only made one Quarter Final.
Keep up.
Why the fuck did I log into this thread? Fucking hell, does Nembo have to kill everything with his tedious bullshit?
This @Cicero_Dandi is evidently a huge grass court tennis fan. He was on this morning, following the draw live and providing live updates and commentary. The All England Lawn Tennis Championships are box office.
They are Geoffrey. There are sporting events we look forward to every year and I have always loved The Championship. It is the pinnacle of a sport I love. It saddens me that discussion of it on this board is sabotaged by this uncouth compare and contrast with muck tennis.
Have you made your mind up on whether the highest possible seed Federer has to play before the SF is still a bum?
You are reluctant to address this.
I expressed my views on the merits of Kevin Anderson as a tennis player during last yearās US Open. I appreciate that was in or around six months before you started posting here. I see you were at your creepy stalking routine again this morning pulling up posts I made about Kevin Anderson some six months before you starting posting here. Very odd behaviour.
Rather than try and talking about me, can you address whether you still think the highest seeded player Federer will meet before the SF is still a ābumā ?
Itās a fairly straight question you seem reluctant to answer. Cat got your tongue?
