The All England Lawn Tennis Club Championships 2018

You have senile dementia, you mentioned Ivo Karlovic four posts ago. Now you donā€™t want to talk about him.

This is a fascinating debate.

You cited two players last Monday to support this proposition of yours that only big servers prosper at the Championship as grass specialists - John Isner and Ivo Karlovic. The real facts clearly demonstrate that John Isnerā€™s worst Grand Slam performances are on grass. Ivo Karlovic in 13 appearances at the Championship has made one quarter final and just two more last 16 appearances. Of those 13 appearances, Karlovic has exited in Round 1 of the Championship on 6 occasions and Round 2 on 2 occasions. Karlovic is not very good on grass either.

You seem to have dementia.

Karlovic has had his best ever slam pefromance on grass. Do you not understand that?

An unseeded Serbian player Novak Djokovic has taken the first set 7-5 against the top seed Marin Cilic in the final of the Queenā€™s Club Championship.

Who is 6f6 and a Wimbledon finalist.

Oh for fuck sake, who is top seed based on his world ranking and his performances over the last year.

And heā€™s a guy who is all about his serve. He goes well at Wimbledon and hard courts, not so much on clay.

Heā€™s obsessed with height. I reckon heā€™s a 5ft 4 midget you suffers from small man syndrome. Pete Sampras and the GOAT are both 6ft 1 and have won 15 of the last 25 championships. After that, Nadal is 6ft 1 as well, Djokovic is 6ft 2, Murray, 6ft 3, Ivanisevic 6ft 4, Kraijeck 6ft 5. Lleyton Hewitt was 5ft 11. Not too many of these 6ft 6 giraffe/dinosaurs heā€™s on about winning it. In fact no 6ft 6 player has won it.

Iā€™m not obsessed with height. Iā€™m stating facts, you are obsessed with ignoring the correlation between big serving and success at Wimbledon.

Serving is important on all surfaces in tennis. Nadal is 6ft 1, the same height as Federer and Sampras. Maybe Nadal should work harder on improving his serve and his serving technique.

Nadal works on his all round game, heā€™s not a big server and never will be a big server. Grass is a surface that really suits one dimensional players with a big serve.

Next youā€™ll be telling us that Championship winners Bjorn Borg, Jimmy Connors, John McEnroe, Boris Becker, Stefan Edberg, Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Sir Andy Murray (who have accounted for 38 of the last 42 Championship titles) were one dimensional players with just a big serve.

The winning enclosure at the Championship is largely the preserve of the great players unlike the succession of duds who litter the French Open roll of honour.

Borg, Agassi, Nadal and Djokovic were complete players. The other lads have big serves. Nadal, Bjorg and Agassi in particular did not have big serves which makes their wins on grass even more remarkable.

Federer is the most complete player in the history of the game and the GOAT.

Nadal is the most complete player of all time. Bjorg, Djokovic and Agassi are all more complete players than Federer.

6ft6 Ace King Marin Cilic and former Wimbledon finalist wins his second Queens Championship.

Cilic wins 5-7 7-6 6-3. Cilic is the man to beat at the Championship.

He is 6ft6 and a monster server so he is absolutely suited to grass tennis.

Cilic is good on most surfaces. Hard courts are his best though. US Open champion in 2014 and Australian finalist this year just losing out to the Great Man in 5 sets.
