Reid was a thundering disgrace
This was one narrative which always annoyed me. Granted he was a honest but very limited player but people often throw out this line to disparage the fella. It wasnāt a case that he was released by his last club training down the park on his own unable to get a club to give him a trial or sign him. He was a regular for Derby county for the 2011/2012 season and they were keen to keep him but he turned down a new deal as he wanted more money and was left out of their last two games due to it and instead moved to Leeds on a bosman that summer.

Sure Gary Breen had no club in 2002 and achieved cult status for it. Its a bit of a pointless stat to throw out.
From what i remember it was a quip/putdown by Eamonn Dunphy after one of the games that fellas ate up with a big spoon

I never said Kerr set us back . He didnāt bring us for either . I think around that time things had gone back as the quality of the players went backwards and the public lost a lot of grĆ for the national team .
