The Anti-Rugby Football Thread

People born in the O6 have the option of choosing which side they can represent hence Ireland is a 32 county team and did not need to betray the Irish Republic like the West Brits did with their sop to the Unionists.

Because the ball went into the net? My question is how is the position the Scots player was in deemed to be deliberate?

FIFA are the Governing body for the sport worldwide pal and they are who we play under. We agreed to their rules.

Northern Ireland are the 6
The ROI is for the 26

End off.

Here lads, what time do Ireland go home from “Rugby World” Cups?

Quarters to 4

How come lads from Antrim and Derry play for the 26 without 26 heritage so?

But you are giving out about the “game and rules”, criticizing Scotland from throwing to the tail has nothing to do with it. Unfortunate accidents happen in sport - there are plenty of handballs awarded in football as a result of mayhem where the person doesn’t have a clue.

As they hold Irish passports. It does not make them the team of the 6 counties. The team of the 6 counties are Northern Ireland, who will be playing in this summer’s European Championships. It’s eligibility to an Association, who represent an area. The FAI represent the 26 counties.

Incorrect.

Ireland represents 32 counties as anyone born in the 32 counties is entitled to play for them. Why are refusing to accept this fact?

No mate, FIFA just decided what the teams would be called so as to avoid confusion. One is called the “Rep of Ire” the other “Northern Ire”.
There are no “rules” as to who these teams represent, and both can legitimately claim to represent the whole island. In reality, the team called “RoI” has a better claim to being the All-Island team as they actually draw players and supporters from both sides of the border.
So, once again, the team is an all-island 32 county team.

End off.

Fair player to @Tim_Riggins. Probably the poster of the tournament.

Is not the fucking rule that if the offside is accidental then it’s a scrum not a penalty? My point is how the fuck can the ref decide whether it was accidental or deliberate. Given the mayhem it looked accidental to me but surely the cunt should have asked for a TMO opinion given they generally go to TMO for far less consequential decisions?

Yes there are I’m afraid. The purview of the Irish Football Association is the 6 counties. That is what their funding from UEFA and FIFA is measured on. The purview of the Football Assocaition of Ireland is the 26 counties. That is what a sporting association is. You sign up to association football competitions - you sign up to FIFA and UEFA.

That wasn’t your point. You criticised the Scotch for throwing to the tail initially, mudding the issue. Accidents happen in sport.

I forgot it was Associations that played in matches and not the citizens…

I had two points. One was a criticism of the Scots the other a criticism of the ref.

You would be wrong mate.
What league does the professional soccer club from the city of Derry play in?

Players from all 32 counties play for the RoI
Supporters from all 32 counties support the RoI
Clubs from the 6 counties play in the league administered by the Assoc associated with the RoI national team.

Sounds like a 32 county all-island team to me.

End of.

Rugby hooligans.

People are so mentally challenged on this issue it defies belief. The “Irishman” Rory tweeted earlier that the rugby boys did their country proud. WTF. This is the same cunt that is hesitant to call himself Irish.
