Sean must be the only one who doesnā€™t know who the new captain is judging by his interviews over the past 24 hours.

Poor Sean.

Ultan Dillane, Josh van der Flier, CJ Stander and Stuart McCloskey the new caps in the Irish squad. CJ being the naturalised Irishman, all others possessing of strong Irish blood.

Leinster are one of the most successful teams in Europe and are net exporters of talent, why wouldnā€™t other European teams be envious of them? Got many other teams better than that Fagan?

They only play rugby in 4 european countries mate.calm down with the hyperbole

2 of those 4 countries arenā€™t really countries either.

So which of those other countries then?

Whatā€™s the story with this GARRY Ringrose, fella?

I presume heā€™s a proddy bastard given the double ā€œrā€ in his name.

Donā€™t think so. Blackrock boy. And grandson of the former head of the Army Equestrian School Captain Billy Ringrose. Very much an alright sort too by all accounts.

Informative rating.

Maybe you or one of the rugby football aficionados could help with a query as follows:

Has the Irish national rugby football team ever won a decisive knock-out game in its history?

Not counting games in the annual spring invitational friendly round robin or group games that werenā€™t ā€œdo or dieā€ in the world cup.

I think Ireland might have had to beat Georgia or Romania or someone to qualify for a world cup around a decade ago. Any other games?

Iā€™m pretty sure Munster beat the All Blacks mate.

I specifically mentioned the national team, pal.

A ā€œdo or dieā€ group game against Wales in the 1995 World Cup which they won by one point.

The answer is no. The world cup is only in operation since 1987. As you know Ireland have never gone past 1/4 final stage

Lost a playoff as well in 1999, I think against Argentina.

Canā€™t remember Ireland winning a knockout game. But I think as a nation we are more suited to the Champions League type format.

We bate france mate, that was a ā€˜knock outā€™ game for us. Knock out good and proper

France went through to the next round.

Please provide more details of this.

Did we not have to qualify in 2003?

Group games are not proper knock out games.

Yes and we were battered to shreds for the next game Its the game we play Iā€™m afraidā€¦
