He is a hypocrite. He stood up for Keown with the entire Van Nistelrooy thing when he said that Van Nistlerooy was making the most of the challenges when he had Pires on the team - a ridiculous diver.
Yes he shook his head but why would you try to deduce that meant he thought it wasnât a red card, especially when he came out and said it was deserved. Isnât it possible he was shaking his head in disbelief at the stupidity of Diabys tackle or the way his team were self-imploding against an awful Bolton team?
I think itâs tabloid like to see something innocuous like a manager shaking his head and come up with the view that it meant he approved of the tackle and then castigate him for it, instead of finding out what his view of the incident was by reading what he actually said.
Like I said he is hypocritical at times but majority of football fans, players and managers are. I could give you hundreds of examples of Ferguson, Mourinho, Benitez and other top managers being hypocritical. For example, Ferguson has complained about tackles on Ronaldo and Nani this season but never spoke out about the treatment of Reyes at Old Trafford or Van Nistelrooys horror tackle on Ashley Cole a few years ago. Donât get me wrong I wouldnât expect him to do that, itâs just that you have to realise that for every thing you hate about a rival, your own team more than likely have the same type players/managers.
This is particularly the case with Man united and Arsenal but on childish forums like BBCâs 606 you will see both sets of fans abuse each other without noting the irony. They will cite a manager who always whinges, diving players, refs favouring them and not see how similar the two teams are.
Wenger said in his interview after that Diaby was protecting himself with the tackle and it wasnt malicious. he did say they cant have complaints about it but still tried to defend the tackle. When he was shaking his head was a minute or 2 after the red card and it was when Stensson was being assisted off the field that he was shaking his head.

I think youâll find he said that in the heat of the moment and retracted the statement later. Also, Taylors tackle resulted in a broken leg, Diabys did not.
Not the point Tinnion. Both equally as bad. Diabyâs could have easily resulted in a broken ankle/leg.
