Galway (SF v Mayo): A Faherty; N Coyne, F Hanley, D Burke; G Bradshaw, D Blake, G Sice; P Conroy, N Coleman; J Bergin, P Joyce, N Joyce; S Armstrong, M Meehan, D Meehan.
Mayo (SF v Galway): K O’Malley; L O’Malley, G Cafferkey, K Higgins; P Gardiner, T Howley, A Moran; D Heaney, R McGarrity; P Harte, T Mortimer (captain), A Dillon; A Kilcoyne, B Moran, A O’Shea.
hard to know how sammon can justify starting Coyne after he getting
roasted the last against Sligo and with a fully fit Fitzy back in the frame. Expect Deccie Meehan to start at wing back with Bradshaw operating as a 3rd midfielder. Conroy and Bergin may also switch. Good to see Nicky and Gary Sice starting, would have liked to see Mullaghy in for Deccie myself but seemingly Sammon thinks he’s only fit for league football. Galway are primed to score goals, this is key for them as their scoring opportunities may be limited with Mayo likely to win the lions share of posession espicially if a fully fit McGarrity starts. He’s due a late fitness test on the day itself, but even his understurdy Tom Parsons along with Heany would have too much for us at midfield on all known evidence.
Very hard to call this. If Galway get the goals then they’ll win but theses games usually fall on whoever gets the breaks on the day with even the most minute bit of good fortune making all the difference.

Think Mayo are far far stronger at midfield myself particularly with Harte dropping back around there and Parsons to come on. Since I have money on them I’m hoping it will prove crucial. McGarritty’s fitness is key.

Would that be four midfielders then?
One thing is for sure - Deccie won’t start in the corner. Four potent forwards there on their day - the two Joyces, Armstrong and Meehan.
I fancy Mayo though but should be a great game.

Quite possibly. Galway may be willing to sacrifice a lot up front to gain posession around the middle. The onus will be on M Meehan, Armstrong and the Joyces to take their chances and their more than capable. Nickys been flying for Kilerrin recently, Armstrong and Meehan are on the verge of re-producing their U-21 form and Paraic Joyce is one of the all time greats and just like all sound people, he fookin hates Mayo so I can see a bit of a goal fest for Galway in Salthill this Sunday.
Wicklow v Down is a half decent game…1-10 to 10 points to Wicklow with 40 minutes gone…Roscommom are 7 to 6 up against Wexford according to Aertel
Roscommon 0-08 Wexford 0-08, level for the sixth time in the match, 55 minutes gone…
Leighton Glynn just gave one of the Down players a sly dig in the bollocks… classic
What a finish in Aughrim, balls on that lad like a bengali tiger…
Hannon just kicked a almighty free to win it. Spared staffords blushes.
Micko the legend applaudin the crowd and saying great stuff. Delighted for him.
Roscommon beat wexford 11-8…
Dramatic stuff alright. Some pressure kick for Hannon at the end. Down bottled it for at least two good opportunities in the previous two minutes as well. Great scenes though. Results like that make the championship.
I wonder would Micko be interested in taking over the Clare hurlers
Depends what you pay him. Disappointed Down lost that, I’ve no love for the tax dodger.
Whether you like him or not you have to commend him on how far he has brought this Wicklow team in a relatively short space of time…
Great scenes in Aughrim, I’m sorry I didn’t go down to it now. Fair play to Micko, delighted for him. I’d be happy enough for Limerick not to draw them anyway.
Also, good to see Paul McGrath in the crowd looking well.
Kerry V Sligo is delayed by 20 minutes
In other news, dublin minors beat Kildare in minor final replay after extra time.
God there stupid cunts down in kerry. There excuse for it being delayed was because it was shopping hour in tralee and bigger crowd than expected.
Wouldn’t you think in this day in age that they’d be prepared for everything that could possibly happen.
