See what you did there. I’m into aesthetics though. So many towns have been blighted by ugly new developments and buildings that look totally out of place. The buildings in Callan retain their old style elegance. St Marys Church, the Augustinian Friary, Green St and Bridge St are lovely. They just need a bit of looking after. Yes there’s new developments there, but in a quaint sort of way this is welcome. The Celtic Tiger didn’t pass this way leaving oodles of unfinished housing estates.

Derrys far from rough in comparison with Dublin, parts of Cork, Limerick,Longford, Tralee, etc
Was this essentially the main road between Kilkenny and Clonmel until the bypass was built? Must have been a fair bit of reversing if two trucks met eachother.
