The biggest mullocker of the last 25 years

Browne could finish though

He looked ancient alright! didnā€™t come from a big club either I think?

Brick would be in the Bonner Maher/Shane Oā€™Donnell category. None of them wristy strikers of a ball but all are/were full of nous and had excellent first touches and an ability to take a ball at pace that a mullocker wouldnt. All are very skilful in their own right just not out and out stickmen

Valley Rovers (Inishannon)

Mullocker alright but effective in 1999

I think he is a nephew of Mick Oā€™Connell Kerry who most certainly wasnā€™t a mullocker

Damien Hayes is a bit of a bolox

I never saw Mick o Connell hurl

no way should Redser be listed. He had bags of skill. maybe a free spirit but certainly not a mullocker

there are mullocker types in football too, Oā€™Connell wasnā€™t one

Thatā€™s a right blast from the past. A player Iā€™d completely forgotten about. Think he generally did well against Wexford, but we were no great shakes in fairness. If I recall correctly he was from a small club even by Offaly standards called Carrig-Riverstown. A mountainy place on the Laois border someone told me back in his playing days. It could be inaccurate, I donā€™t know. A big mop of wild hair on him.

Is rivers town not the Offaly side of Moneygall

:grinning::grinning:

On the back road from Borrisokane to Birr. Itā€™s actually in Tipperary, I think.

It certainly is in tipp but play in Offaly . The converse of moneygall

I wouldnā€™t have a notion (about this and other matters).

Carrig Riverstown is inside the Tipp border but play in Offaly.

There was a great story about him 10 years ago. He was coaching Killea who are a junior B outfit outside Templemore in a county semi final. He was also still playing for his own club. There was a fixture clash with both so the Killea game was put on early in the day. However it finished a draw and extra time was played. Ger had to dash off for his own match so he issued the rallying calls over a mobile phone call on loudspeaker.

Itā€™s in Tipp , between Borrisokane and Birr.

Michael Cussen of Cork was a bit of a mullocker as well.
