Yeah, @mac is a dolt
@Little_Lord_Fauntleroy can you get onto your contacts to allow electric cargo bikes on motorways? It’s too much for me to have to go through every town between Wexford and Dublin and the battery probably wouldn’t last
It keeps being borne out time and time again.
I’m taking the plunge.
Bit of an impasse with my wife on which type to go for (Babboe type front loading or a long tail - she’s the former, I’m the latter) but we’ve agreed to make a call by COB.
Suspect we might drop to a one car family if this works out.
When this works out. I’d go with the latter, those front ones are a bit pretentious
i love you man
you are an inspiration
Can one insure a cargo bike against theft?
Theft of your manhood?
I’ve my two bikes specifically listed on the house insurance. That covers them getting stolen, even if it’s stolen from somewhere else. Obviously there’s an excess I’d have to pay
There are specific bike insurance schemes out there too
You may laugh, but our revenge will be the clean air breathed by our children.
Signing in. Thank you, Minister Ryan.

What did you get?
Riese & Muller rear loading. I can’t recall the specific model. It looks similar to the decathlon one. Storage issue meant I couldn’t get a box one.
It has changed my life in ways I never thought possible.
Where did you buy it? Any wait time or wriggle room on price. Did you put it on insurance
I’m looking at this
Got it from those guys. Wait time was only about two months.
I didn’t question price as I avoid confrontation at all costs.
Have yet to sort insurance but will try put it on house insurance.
Cargo bike an outstanding success. Kids love it.
Debating getting a second e-bike for my own commuting needs. New Clonskeagh to Charlemont cycle path will be unreal when done and could get me out of the car (on dry days certainly).
My one lingering issue is secure bike parking - we’d like to cycle into town but wary of leaving the bike unattended for too long.
