A lot taller than you would have imagined. I’d have him down as 6 foot 2 at least. A lanky cunt. He was accompanied by a woman who was not Averil Power, possibly a fellow journalist covering the exhibition. I overheard him say he was pissed off about something or other.

Live spot of Irish Times Political Correspondant and former Irish Examiner editor Harry McGee in the Aran Islands hotel with a woman and young girl (presumably wife and daughter), absolutely horsing into his chocolate and ice cream type dessert. He’s wearing blue jeans and a black and white striped nautical/sailing looking jumper, with sunglasses on top of his head despite he’s indoors and it’s drizzling rain. Harry was a regular guest on the excellent Tonight with Vincent Browne programme and he strikes me as an alright sort. I spotted him again two hours ago drinking a pint on a stool at ‘The Bar’ down by the pier and in deep conversation with Fianna fail TD John McGuinness, who is curiously on Inis Mor as well tonight. I suppose I will tentatively put McGuinness forward as a spot also.
