Funtime:

Fanning sat with his back to the window, a brave move deep in kinahan heartland. he enjoyed a kenyan blend coffee while his 2 companions had milk based coffee. the trio were deep in conversation but unsurprisingly it was fanning who dominated the discussions. body language and tone suggested a degree of subservience from his female companion, his male companion just seemed a little slow.
the conversation was an animated discussion about a mutual acquaintance. i had ordered a take away coffee but did my best to prolong the administration of milk and sugar so as to ensure maximum TFK coverage of the conversation. I believe that the subject matter of their discussions was a Mr Desmond Cahill and their critique of his personality appeared to be scathing. while the DWTS show was not explicit mentioned, it appeared to me that an iniital mention of this show to which i was not privy triggered the conversation. fannings dulcid tones, so dominant on Irish airwaves for so long, filled the small cafe with a familiarity one only experiences with enduring household names. however it was interesting to hear his distinctive voice peppered with the blue language more usually associated with those who work in the nautical arena.
the snippets of converation i was able to pick up referred to the party who was not present as ‘gobshite’ and also ‘gombeen of the highest order’, fannings female colleage may have used the term ‘creep’ to which fanning guffawed.
at this point i made my exit, glancing over at fanning as i went towards the door, in a brief moment of eye contact we both knew that between us we had an encyclopedic knowledge of music and a passion for the analysis of musical sub cultures, however he had the sullen defeated look of a man who made his way through life with his tongue too firmly inserted in the rear end of Paul ‘bono’ hewson.

Still the greatest spot of all time.

Went to north east portmarnock for a dip off her infamous high rock. Spotted there was celebrity ‘architect to the stars’ dermot bannon. Bannon unveiled a portly physique that indicates he has been dining out on his recent success with the room to improve series. Bannons ascent to the top of Sunday evening terrestrial viewing was at odds with his ambition at high rock; while others mounted the top bars for head forst diving, bannon was content to fling his architectural bulk feet first from a more modest height into the portmarnock sea.

Dave Duffy aka Leo from Fair City. Grafton St. just now. With his son. They look like a low budget version of Brendan and Domhnaill Gleeson. Leo/Dave was wearing a light colored blazer and chinos. He is very very tall and quite tanned and blonde.

Probably the most open and shut case of a “spot” ever on this forum.

Both Peter O’Mahony and Donnacha O’Callaghan within 5 minutes of each other on leafy Douglas Village this morning. Not together, O’Mahony with his daughter and O’Callaghan having eggs at the window seat in 12 Tables. Both men wearing tee shirt and shorts combo.

Kevin Kilbane in the Croke Park Hotel yesterday evening after the games in Croke Park. Part of my party got a picture with him. He wasn’t very impressed but his two female friends in Donegal jerseys were even less impressed. They fucked off soon afterwards.
