The Cheltenham Festival 2014

jesus, I just noticed goodwood mirage (jonjo) was rated 96 on the flat, goes for the fred winter…AP up

I think I put this up already, just gone through it again, un beau matin is too well handicapped…plot for sure, probably the martin pipe

he must have an inbuilt handbrake

Btw, cassells rock on 10-0 for tony martin. Seems to be a first time blindfold, but would need to check all.previous races

hmm…ballycasey fall here at 16 secs…wouldn’t like it

It would not put me off KC. He has been foot perfect where it matters. I have rarely seen a novice jump as well as Ballycasey.

My concern is that he shows plenty of toe and he may have been more suited to the Jewson.

mullins won in before in 2004 with missed that when he also fell in his prep but that fall there was very novicey, didnt get the landing gear out at all…it would put me off at the price I have to say

I can’t see Quevega getting turned over. Even if she regressed a few pounds due to age, she would be miles clear on the ratings. This is probably the worse race of the Festival and she is a genuine multiple Grade 1 performer. Anything around evens or better would be a gift in my opinion.

She was not impressive last year as she clipped heals and almost came down. In the end she won going away. She showed her class at punchestown there after.

You are mixing him up with rule supreme KC.

Missed that won the bumper!

Its not widely known but I saw War of Attrition head off schooling in 2006 on the same day and return home without Conor O’Dwyer. According to reports he either fell or threw Conor off him but it didn’t matter a shite a few weeks later

yes…

you’re probably right, I was basing it on the run last year, had forgotten about pun

I’m listening to a podcast here where Henry de Bromhead was interviewed. I’d be hard pressed not to throw a few quid on Special Tiara after listening to it. Or by the sounds of it, Special Tiara will set the race up for Sizing Europe  :pint:

he was a big eyecatcher behind Activial at Kempton.

Big Shu is my nap of the week in the cross country 4-1
Am told Paul Nicholls will win with lac Fontana wherever he goes

Day 1
Mind not yet made up re supreme, will probably just watch it
Trifolium in the arkle @ 6s, speaks for itself, I don’t think CF will be aloud the run of the race and didn’t like the mistake it made when the Nolan horse was upsides at xmass, poor fav in my view

Hope holywell goes in the next 12s, sluiced up in the pertempts last eyar (CD) and was won I marked down for a chase here this year at that time, go have a look at that race again, travelled unbelievably well, blinkers…went to 158 over hurdles…

champion hurdle, I an TNO fan since a long way out, I if he wins, which I think he will (drying gnd) you should also look very closely at Rule the World (8s) in the world hurdle, second to him last year in the Neptune I think mouse also knows what he has there

the NH Chase…quote from Willie Mullins after Suntieps last win
He looks an out-and-out stayer and I’d nearly take my licence back out to ride him at Cheltenham - he jumps that well," said Mullins @ 14s grand each way bet but you need the jockey here (amateur)

In the mares race, there are 4 places so worth taking on Quevega for the fun, on drying gnd Pipes Swing Bowler looks like an improver and out of the ultra game, and multiple che winner lady cricket, also in the imperial cup, hard run there and I would put a line through, 12s

Romford Pele is a tough little sort in the next, no strong view, worth backing for no other reason that Rebecca Curtis lips @ 14s

i was tempted to put him up but think up and go is very well handicapped and looks a real plot by McCain.

Don Cossack going for the RSA and money starting to come for him. I want 10’s on Morning Assembly but doesn’t look likely anytime soon.

Day 2
With days 1 winnings weighing me down, I wont be making the same fcuking mistake I always do with some flashy kunt of a novice in the Neptune,if those pipes think un temp pour tous was worth 450 k he’s worth 20 ew from me @ 16 -1 , faugheen jumps too slow, frightening engine and red Sherlock is a tail swisher

IN the RSA I awlays go for a warrior and Many CLouds fits the bill @ 16s, I like ofaolains boy and he is weighted to beat this guy in the RSA (last run) 16s as well

Coral cup, bayan, alan kings vendor also there and moores have a horse I know they like called leo luna
Queen Mum - no bet

Cross Country, nap of the week, Big Shu 5s

Fred Winter goodwood mirage 12s, see above

Bumper, no strong view, modus on @fenwaypark advice

Red Sherlock will run here with un temp pour tous running in coral.

ok, have to rethink Neptune…no great interest in it, literally drove me to drink last year
