The Cost of Living 📈

Lads how would you go about selling energy back to the grid? I’ve a bit of room on the acre site and I reckon a big aul wind turbine would be the job.

We’ve a machine also in work but I think it’s shite. We’ve a Nespresso machine here in the house and I won’t go near it either, piss… I’m in the cork airport park for work so not many places to walk to, if I was in the city I’d be tempted to get out alright. Cork is the food and coffee capital of Ireland after all, did you know that?

We can drink coffee made from acorns.

A jar of Maxwell House is the job.

That’s scandalous when you think the cunts could save massive on transport costs.

I think I paid 6:40 for a pint of Moretti in the city recently. Guinness in the local edging towards the €5, gone up to 4.60 now.

7.60 for a Moretti recently in a pub that would be very familiar to the mods on here.

That’s basically a tenner for a pint.

5.40 for Guinness in Cork city on Saturday. I was taken aback, I hadn’t had a pint in a few months. I take it prices will go back down in a few months once inflation subsides :grinning:

A tenner a day on sandwiches and 3.50 three times a day on coffee.

You are spending huge money every week at work

The likes of @TreatyStones are keeping the country going.

Fellas at home on their couch eating leftovers from last nights dinner and using jars of coffee won’t get us through this crisis

Must be getting close to a tipping point for the price of a coffee people will spend regularly.

The place I go to offered a 50c discount to staff from our office, which meant up to this week the Americano was €2.50 , which was fine. The hike to €3 with the discount will be a tipping point for many in the office I feel. Especially when decent coffee is already provided on site.

The price of coffee has risen due to extreme weather events in brazil over the last few years which has led to a fall in the crop levels.

@briantinnion , please move any coffee related posts on this thread to the climate change thread please.

Thanks

The price of a cup of coffee, has little or nothing to do with the price of coffee

It’s about 120 shots from a 1kg bag of beans.

So about 16 cent per cup of coffee is the beans cost.

Just like 911 was an international operation carried out by florists, the cost of living crisis in '22 is being manufactured by artisan coffee sellers world wide.

Wash, colour and a cut gone up from €70 to €80 in my local D5 hair salon.

6.10 for a Guinness in Doheny and Nesbitts last week. I had a skinful of them.
