A snap election should see us get 5 more years of this government.

They should go for it.

they are literally paying our bills now - a double childcare payment & 400 euros towards energy

There won’t be a cow miled from Ballyconneely to Bayside tonight

He does on his carbon emitting hole for me.

He’ll be throwing a bone to the creche sector. We have a childminder for a variety of reasons that include non standard working hours and a complete lack of availability/flexibility in Dublin. We even have her registered as an employee so I’m paying her a decent wage plus then another 11% or so of a shakedown to the government.

ROD as you endearingly call him is giving me fuck all and I expect ROD (nice but dim?) to get quite a bit of blowback when he realises how many people he won’t be helping out.

Giving me a break on the employers PRSI would have been an easy win and would encourage childminders to be properly registered

They’ll be doing some scrambling to find something to give out about. I’m sure they’ll say something like Michael O’Leary has gotten the same benefits as a low wage worker in Tallaght

They’re paying to have the Christmas trees on.

the Core funding model brought in by Rod is a game changer for creches

You’d have more respect for them if they just held their hands up and told the Govt that they nailed it

Grand so, I’ll saunter down to my local creche and book the lads in. Oh look, there’s absolutely no availability and despite knowing this ROD just looked the other way.

Sensational

The shinners will say it should be €2376

My friend who owns a building company is seething. He said they’ve already been notified of a 10% increase from their concrete provider for next month, so come next April concrete products will be 21% more expensive than they are now. That’s a fair whack.
