How is it protecting him? It can only absolve him from the accusation, to me there is much more to this than that. The Donegal player in question didnât make an allegation or want any action brought around it.

The Ulster Councilâs probe into last Mayâs controversial Ulster MFC clash between Donegal and Tyrone has concluded that itâs âlikelyâ a Donegal player was on the receiving end of âunwelcome commentsâ from an opponent.
However, the investigation has ruled out claims that the comments related to the death of Donegal captain Michael Carrollâs father Francie.
Details of the report, which brings an end to the five-month investigation, are published in todayâs Irish Daily Star.
âOn balance of probabilities and a following a review of the evidence, it was likely that some Tyrone players made unwelcome verbal comments toward the Donegal player during the game,â the report states.
"Both county committees and the investigation committee accept that the comments were not about the death of the playerâs father. All sides accept that the comments made by players and others on social and open media channels were not reflective of the views and ethos of either Tyrone or Donegal GAA.
"Tyrone GAA has expressed their best wishes to the Donegal player in question. The Donegal GAA officials welcomed and thanked Tyrone GAA for their comments and have also expressed the same sentiments to all the Tyrone players.
âThis matter is now concluded.â
