My youngest has become obsessed with Bayern Munich in recent months since randomly getting their jersey as a Christmas present from my sister. He’s got into learning about the club & all the players, & I’ve been showing him You Tube match highlights weekly.

He also stayed up to watch the Real Madrid & PSG Champions League ties with me, which probably wasn’t great parenting on a school night for a 5-year old. He’s even started to DO HIS OWN RESEARCH on the club, typing “FC Bayern Munich” into You Tube & just letting various clips segue into the next one.

Anyway, it was my life partner’s Mam’s anniversary lately so she popped into the church across the road from the school after collecting him the other day to light a candle for her. He was telling me about it when they got arrived home & I asked him who he prayed for…

…He replied “Granny in heaven & Franz Beckenbauer.”

My daughter’s the same . She was glued to the Portugal Spain match. I made the mistake of telling her about the CR7 statue, museum and airport in Madeira and she’s been constantly on about going there for our summer holiday next year.

Vomiting bug running through kids when you’re stuck in a hotel room… the poor night porter had to deliver 3 sets of fresh bed linen during the night. The first explosion landed all over me at 3 am

Oh I dont regret seeing the back of those nights. Its amazing how adept you become at flipping a bed.

FWIW I found the vomit bags invaluable - especially for kids with a penchant for car sickness.

We know a couple who stayed in the same hotel 3 weeks ago and their kids all got vomiting bug so it’s been bouncing around in the hotel all summer I’d say.
When i told reception and cleaning staff they both looked at me as if i just told them the earth was round… i got the feeling the room will just be cleaned as normal and someone will be staying in it tonight even tho there was puke all over it… and on the cycle goes.
