Galway only put in their lights last week, I presume this has been in the planning with a while

For a few years.

Expected to be up and running for the league.

Will there be a light show to rival Chadwick’s Wexford Park?

A reasonable expectation of not being hit by a hurricane?

A small bit of movement…

I love horse racing and I enjoy unlike many racing enthusiasts all weather racing but if there’s any state funding going into the new all weather track it’s some joke.

You are basically building something for magnier to exercise horses in the spring and autumn.

It’ll absolutely ruin Dundalk which is a fine set up and make the racing very uncompetitive.

Not sure what the story is with the funding but the state should not be funding it.

Are you sure of that? Wikipedia says with exception of the famous Polo grounds match in ‘47, that every AIF since 1908 has been played in Croker.

That’s probably referring to football only. Sure you had the 1984 hurling final held in Thurles as well.

Lowry got the 100 year anniversary all Ireland played in Thurles

Michael Cusack organised that.

I read last night on another thread it was Michael Lowry anyway

No it was definitely Cusack.

I’m sure Lowry took credit for it though.

Yes I am. The 1909 AI hurling final was played in Fraher Field In Dungarvan as well so either Wikipedia is wrong or you misinterpreted it. The 1937 final was taken to Killarney b cause CP was being rebuilt.

What we need now is a €400m stadium in Belfast.

Maybe we do. I don’t know. It would be a flagship.

Many of the things we admire today were expensive at the time so let’s do it.

Whats the cost of bringing archbishop carvery park into the modern age

Some journalist on Virgin Media just called Pearse Stadium ‘a cabbage patch of a pitch’

What’s this now?

Sorry I didn’t mean to reply directly to you but they are building a completely unnecessary all weather track at the junction in tipp.

It’s absolutely crazy stuff.

Lowry paid for it.
