I first became aware of Willie Ross when I saw him speaking after being re-elected with a massive majority for the East Londonderry constituency at the 1992 Westminster election.

It was a speech that made a big impact on me.

It really is fitting that Willie is a member of Dungiven LOL 2036, as 2036 will be the year he hopefully reaches the century.

He’s surely Dungiven’s most distinguished ever figure on the national stage.

That’s him. But he subsequently sold the 35 acres in north south derry, and moved to Leitrim- where he spent part of the proceeds on a large country estate, a disused railway station (with developmental potential), a public house/undertaker’s, and a lakeside cottage/hovel with sitting (almost entirely)tenant and barely used stihl chainsaw.
Who knows- you might even bump into each other

She’d ate ya,
A lot if bitterness still prevalent,
My granddaughter’s grandmother from Limavady point blank to this day won’t even talk to or meet her,
Simply cos her mam( my daughter is RC)

Why can’t we all just get along?

Sure I never met a Protestant until I went to Romania :romania:
We worked together,
We sang ours
They sang theirs.
No issues
And most of us were republican (lot of ex prisoners)
As were theirs.
