The great PJ McManus

they have a lot of interests

Have you read the book, “The Dark Horse inside Coolmore”?

Nope.

Daly owes everyone a few Bob

They’ve hotels and nursing homes in England but again the money going out can’t be covered by them.

JP has mugged off every county board administrator here. They’ll spend the next twelve months squabbling with junior clubs over how much they’re owed. They’ll spend so much time on it that they won’t get to focus on inter county affairs

Limerick clubs in the meantime will have a series of cheques already cut and ready for depositing, allowing them to concentrate on the drive for two

Fundraising is an absolute bollocks. Most clubs have very limited income sources, and the costs are constant. Whether we get €50 or €500, we won’t be saying no.

Nice gesture from him to be fair, all 32 county boards getting a 100k each is fantastic.

The thing with most rural clubs is that it’s always the same people who are being asked to support different organisations.

The same people who are paid up GAA members will also be in the soccer club lotto, be at the table quiz fundraiser for the local St Vincent de Paul, be asked to stand for the church gate collections etc.

It really is draining trying to survive year after year with that backdrop.

Fundraising is tough but you see the amount of cunts that give nothing to their clubs is crazy. No other sporting body has served a county as well as the Gaa has served Ireland to my mind. The facilities all over the country are incredible. The identity it gives areas is amazing too. Kids out many evenings a week keeping healthy and fit for basically nothing and you ask for 100 quid for a club lotto and they say no. They’d sicken you. There’s an awful thing in Ireland now where we want everything for free.

Look on the bright side Brimmer. At least now ye can afford to get some Fresh rolls of tinfoil for yere 4 outings next year. There’s probably lads out there who haven’t bought a roll since Richie Stakelum declared the famine over in 87.

They bought ANOTHER FARM IN Cashel just last week.

Whatever about the money they’re giving for Horses, they are paying upwards of €22k per acre currently. They’ve a cunt made of the market.

My problem with fundraising for gaa clubs is I’m buggered if I’m donating towards some s and c clown who doles out basic drills and common sense at a hundred quid a night, or worse for more, just cos ballymickbogger over the far side of the drain are at it, or pay some fat mouthy cunt from two parishes over 400 a week in “mileage”, whilst our own fat mouthy cunt heads in the opposite direction. I’d donate towards jerseys, if they were needed and respected, not fucked away, robbed or lost. I’d pay for sliotars, water bottles etc. I’d pay towards the pitch maintenance, but those things should in truth be covered by membership.
