A 100 rated flat horse isnā€™t a flop though, like that is a very decent horse and wouldnā€™t harm the mareā€™s reputation as a producer. 100 is stakes class these days. Youā€™ve record breakers like The Green Monkey, Hydrogen in Chapple Hyams and others that could hardly put one leg in front of another. Horses are strange, a Moyglare horse that beat Little Big Bear at the Curragh just won for the first time since tonight at Laytown.

In fairness, you could define flop in 10 different ways, to suit any narrative. In the grand scheme of things he was a better flat horse than 90% of TBs ever foaled. But in the eyes of the people that bred him and owned him till flogging him at auction at 4yo, he had to have been a flop, and they almost certainly lost money on him when all is factored in.

Le Paillon was 2nd in the Grand Course des Haies (French Champion Hurdle) and later on that year won the Arc. Granted, that was a very different time, 1947.

The horsey set circled the wagons fairly quickly here to bury the sad news story about his daughter in law.

Drug abuse seems to be rife with anyone who is 35+ and has a few quid. The kids hanging out with minders at the weekend a dead giveaway that mum and dad are partying hard.

What percentage of race horses retire and live gracefully to an old age?

Thatā€™s a fairly weird generalisation on people over the age of 35 and Iā€™m not sure what you expect them to do leave kids on their own?

The interesting aspect is seems the locals arenā€™t letting it drop.

Youā€™d think given they own such a prominent resort they wouldnā€™t be rattling any cages.

Not comparing but in the Madeline McCann case and Michaela Harte one the locals seemed to want to cover it all up and make it go away very quickly.

It seems the very opposite here.

I think heā€™s suggesting that they mind parent their kids at weekends when theyā€™re not working instead of focusing on partying :man_shrugging:

Theyā€™d truly sicken you

Iā€™m sure plenty of parents are out over new years with their kids getting minded.

It seems a wicked generalisation and a fairly snide remark.

People having kids and going out drinking would sicken youā€¦ Pure Irish.

An occasional tipple or an occasion itself is obviously fineā€¦ But parents who regularly booze should have social services set on them. Disgusting carry on.

Iā€™d much rather a parent who can enjoy an evening out anyway than a trump supporting parent.

:joy::joy:

What the fuck has trump to do with anything?

I wouldnā€™t drink in front of the kids at all mate

Kids and drink donā€™t mix.
