why is there a backlash against Bovaer

The Greens across Europe have been pushing these ridiculous policys. Decarbonise by all means but trying to make some dashboard in Brussels look good based on imported wood chips is the sort of nonsense that people are becoming increasingly intolerable to.

The people of Ireland have clearly rejected the Greens. The message delivered by the electorate was the return of the current government minus the Greens.

It’s gas how you put responsibility for this occurrence solely on the greens. The very junior partner in government.

That doesnt answwr the question mate

And it predates them too

:smile::smile::smile::smile::smile:

So this was an FFG decision? But sure it was the greens what done it!

What’s delusional? You’re going on about the FG decision to stop generating energy from peat I think?

Your buddy claimed this decision pre dated the Greens in government, i just corrected the record

What about Richard Bruton’s announcement in 2019?

Incidental.Bruton wasnt in government in 2021 when specific binding targets were introduced

What if both things could be right. We shouldn’t be burning peat and we shouldn’t be importing shite from Brazil to burn instead.

Biogas from silage would seem to me to be a way forward.

Roll it out on a massive scale.

Give farmers a few bob for their troubles, reduce emmissions, renewable gas

The Bord na Móna “Brown to Green” policy was introduced in 2018 as part of Ireland’s efforts to transition to sustainable energy practices. This shift was a cornerstone of Ireland’s commitment to decarbonization and sustainable development, with a focus on phasing out peat extraction and rehabilitating boglands for carbon storage and biodiversity.

Think we had a new interconnector to wales opened today
